Holy shitballs batman or how my life changed forever (or how Big Brother Australia’s Camillagate rocked the house)

Wow, I didn’t see that one coming. Something totally changed my life this weekend.

In this post, I cover Camillagate, the incident in which two housemates were removed from the Big Brother Australia house. Some Chartreuse, Payperpost, some photos and more!

I feel like this kid right there right now.

Well looks like Camillagate is still going on. Looks like she won’t be pressing any charges. Details are revealed on different blogs; this one has a nice complete recap of all events.

More information about the incident from Brad’s Big Brother Blog, that skyrocketed to #4 position out of 240000 blogs in the last few days.

To see the complete media storm and articles, please read my last post on the matter, written on Saturday.

The show is definitely not cancelled. It will continue for the time being. There has been no information about what will happen next season. The press event with John and Ash that was scheduled for 21:40 PM AEST was cancelled until tomorrow. Gretel dug her grave even further by ranting about the media.

On the upside, Camilla is now the favorite by Centrebet to win the show, followed closely by David.

From Behindbigbrother. I’m including the full article, since the site has been up and down due to high traffic. I have actually seen the footage and I stand by my previous opinion, abuse is not to be tolerated in any way shape or form. The footage is easy to find on bittorrents, though I will not be providing any links. It was also removed from YouTube when it was posted on Saturday.

Below is a recap of the events that occured on Sunday following the breaking of the Ashley/John incident:

Update: Ashley and John to appear on Ten at 9.40pm
Network Ten have scheduled a special show on the incident which will air at 9.40pm tonight (Sunday).

Ashley and John will appear on the show and apparently explain what happened in the lead up the Saturday night’s incident with Camilla.

Update: Big Brother will stay on the air!
The official Big Brother website has updated it’s front page statement on the incident – firmly stating the show will stay on the air.

In the statement, Endemol Southern Star, BB producers and Network Ten reaffirm their commitment to producing Big Brother.

The statement also confirms all involved were pro-actively cooperating with Police and would cooperate with the Australian Communication and Media Authority should an investigation take place.

The OS confirmed the incident will not be broadcast on television.

Update: Police interview Camilla, do not press charges
Channel 10 News have reported the Police did interview Camilla over the incident. She did not press charges.

This hasn’t stopped Family First demanding the show be taken off the air. Senator Helen Coonan has continued her discussions with the Australian Communication and Media Authority to determine whether breaches of broadcast codes have taken place. The incident was not broadcast on television.

Channel 10 have told Senator Coonan they will not broadcast or promote the incident footage.

Update: Police to review footage, Beazley calls for last season
Queensland Police will now review the footage from Saturday morning to determine if any charges will be placed against Ashley and John.

Meanwhile Senator Helen Coonan has spoken to the Australian Communication and Media Authority to determine if Endemol Southen Star have breached broadcast codes of practice for letting the incident be shown on internet streams.

Opposition leader Kim Beazley has made a statement recommending Channel 10 make this season of Big Brother the last.

I have been through quite a series of life changing events this weekend. They hit me totally out of the blue, like a freight truck. My eyes have been opened now though and that gives me some comfort. Naturally, since my blog isn’t really the forum for these things, I will not blog about them, however, I plan to continue blogging for the rest of my life. My creative juices might take a while to start flowing again, however I am still doing more research on my short science fiction stories. You will be happy to know that I should post some new chapters this week, regardless of what happened to me.

I was disappointed to learn that Amanda Congdon from rocketboom took the week off. It wasn’t the same without her. Of course I appreciate the fact that she needs some breaks, being a bloggy celebrity. Speaking of vlogs, Mr Angry had some problems with his last one. Read all about his adventure here.

One of my best friends is leaving for Thailand tomorrow. It’s a bit depressing to know that a lot of people in my life are leaving, a lot of people that I thought would be there forever. But hey, now there is a real chance of me blogging from Thailand at some point in time in the future. I read up on the subject and Thailand looks really interesting. Of all the countries my friend JS visited, he decided on this one. However, he faces a strange dilemma as well.

Some interesting news from Chartreuse (ß). Char posts about a new service that pays bloggers to advertise on their blogs about products. It is called Payperpost.

Everyone seems to be bashing PayPerPost. That means there is something there. Real people like the folks who blog on MySpace and Youtube will have no problem selling out for a few bucks. It’s the fucking American Way (even if the phrase isn’t mentioned in the new Superman flick.)

Ohhh yeah. Blogging from exotic locations! The best thing about having a diverse blogroll is imagining how much fun it would be to meet up with everyone. And when I learn how to use my new video camera I can vlog from more picturesque locations than my toilet.

I’m thinking of taking a leaf out of Dave Gorman’s book and making a documentary/comedy performance recording meeting evryone on my blogroll and videoing the disappointed look on their faces as they realise I’m not as interesting as the Mr angry persona. It will be called “Blogrolling” (TM). It will be fun. And it will be a tax writeoff.

    Hi Range,
Thanks for the link. It’s been quite crazy in the last 24 hours, my traffic graph has dwarfed the earlier stats. 600-800 per day looks tiny compared to 6,900!
    Cheers,
    Brad.

Blogging for a picturesque beach in Thailand would be quite impossible to beat. The only problem, is high speed internet access. I checked up on in through

    http://thailandguru.com/

And since the area will be a small island, I will receive updates from JS since he will be checking out the situation. I was trying to find satellite mobile adapters, however they are still quite expensive.

Yeah, no problem Brad, you’re welcome.

Check out the article on evolving trends about traffic, you will find it quite surprising.

Oh and thanks for the addition to your blogroll, did the same on my end of the Pacific.

Thanks K, looking forward to be on the top of all time like you.

Nah everybody can be on “TOP” and I know you can do it. Remember I asked why I don’t ever belong to the wp.com TOP BLOGS? I don’t know – but seeing you there means that you’re going strong with your blog, it’s becoming more popular in wordpress.com. I guess the BLOG title catches my attention. It’s very deep and has full of life.

CoComment is a great service, it creates friendship and it works for blogging so much that sometimes I’d spend time just reading every links I see to whoever commented on a daily basis.

    Yeah, I’m just messing around.

It’s been a very hard day for me. I won’t really get into the details, suffice it to say that yesterday was the worst day in my life. Today isn’t that far behind.
