Invincible Comics Reviewed (Image)

This article is part of the meta-post 3000 Words after Wordcamp or how I didn’t watch Rocketboom. This article gives a review on the Invincible comics by Kirkman and Walker from Image Comics.

This comic tells the story of Markus Grayson, the son of one of the world’s most famous superheroes, Omni-Man. Omni-Man is from another planet and has superpowers, from superstrenght, to superspeed as well as flight. His son discovers he also has these powers and makes his way into a superhero world. Omni-Man draws a parallel to Superman naturally and what would happen if Superman had a son. The storyline is a bit fun until issue #8, where a major plot twist is revealed that turns the world of Invincible around.

What I like about this comic are the comedy elements included in it. There are a lot of jokes, and I do enjoy the style in which the comics are presented, they have a certain flair that is somewhat enticing. Other than that, the story revolves around Invincible gallivanting around the planet to do good, his troubles with girlfriends and his problems keeping his secret identity secret.

This is a good, well written comic that explores the facets of superheroism in an interesting way.
