I’ve always liked the K2 theme for WP. And finally, it has been made available on WP.com. So I’ve chosen one of my best photos that I took recently. The header image is of the Grand Hotel in Taipei, a famous 4 star hotel.
Faded Grandeur. That is what my wife calls it.
This picture was taken on the blue MRT subway line, close to the Shilin metro stop. Taipei’s MRT system has the advantage of being both below and above ground. I had mere minutes to prepare myself for the arrival of hotel. Also, since I was using a Sony Cybershot DSC-P93 5.1 MP point and shoot, I couldn’t take burst shots. Anyways, I wanted 1sec exposures, so that the lights would have a little bit of drag, due to the movement of the train. I was glad that it didn’t end up all blurred.
Also, since I moved to Taiwan from Montreal Canada, it seemed only fitting that I had a picture of Taiwan. I am looking forward to going back to Taipei and taking pictures in the night of the Taipei 101 building. It must be fabulous.
This photo was taken on the 12th of October 2006 on our first trip to Taipei, Taiwan.
