Things are heating up in this new supernatural drama on CBS. Although some critics haven’t enjoyed this show that much and have slammed it, I actually find it very entertaining.
It’s been a while since there has been a successful vampire show. Angel was just a continuation of Buffy. Blade is an action show. Moonlight is somewhere in between. It’s gritty and romantic, which isn’t appalling. Unlike Angel and Forever Knight, Mick St-John isn’t that old of a vampire, so the flashbacks all take place in the 1950s to 1970s.
This episode kind of reminds me of the Secret Diary of a Call Girl on ITV. Why? Because Mick is hired to search for a missing girl. The girl has become a prostitute. The search involves going after a vampire who is really horny. Kind of strange, but interesting.
There is even more chemistry between Mick and Beth. What will Beth do with her boyfriend Josh? Even Josh knows that something is up. On top of that, since drinking Beth’s blood in the last episode, Mick is tied to Beth in more than one way.
I’ve come to like this show and I recommend it. I would enjoy Mick being a bit more like Charlie Crews (of the show Life on NBC) when it comes to technology: completely inept.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Josh has Beth checked out by a doctor. She is fine. They run into Mick on his way to the hospital as well. He has been incommunicado since he drank Beth’s blood. It’s her and Josh’s one year anniversary and Josh invites Mick. He can’t come.
Beth is researching some recipes when she gets a new lead on an escort killer. It looks like it’s a copycat from the one that has been in the news in San Diego.
Mick gets the same case from the parents. He goes to see his friend Josef who finds her address thanks to reverse lookup.
Beth gets a call about the case and bails on her anniversary party. Josh isn’t happy. Mick goes to the victim’s place and smells a vampire. Mick arrives at the morgue with the victim’s parents. Beth scoots away behind some curtains. She isn’t supposed to be there. The parents say that it’s not their child.
Beth and Mick compare notes. Beth is freaking out because they keep running into each other. Mick tells Beth that something did happen.
The vampire is hunting Cherish, the friend of the Nathalie Hall, the girl in the morgue. Mick is looking for Cherish. The vampire has already found her and set up a meeting.
Mick invites Beth to meet Josef and Rider, the vamps working to find Cherish. They go through Nathalie’s rolodex and try to find the killer. After a few tries they find him. He thinks that Beth is Cherish and tells her that they plan on meeting tonight. He doesn’t give them any specifics but it’s enough to find his location.
They run into the cops at his place. Mick gets arrested by the FBI. Mick finds the FBI funny. Mick has Beth lift an address book from the scene. He sees that the vamp is over 200 years old and a teenager. They get into Mick’s Benz. It’s a beautiful. Beth asks Mick about how vampires have sex with humans.
Cherish meets with the vamp. He’s a kid and disfigured. He gives her a lot of money to do what he wants.
Mick and Beth phone Cherish and try to talk the vamp down, but he doesn’t want to listen. They start to chase him and loose him. Mick is still tracking him thanks to his enhanced senses. They find him in a photo mat. He uses Cherish as a distraction to get away.
Mick knows that he is hiding somewhere and waits him out until nightfall. They fight it out on a roller coaster and the vamp gets beheaded.
As Mick tries to make his escape from the offices of Buzzwire, he drops his keys. Beth comes after him and finds him. They kiss.
