Kid Nation Let Me Talk S01E10 (CBS)

I’ve changed my mind about Kid Nation. It’s just like some form of summer camp activity with cameras. CBS has noticed it as well, because the ratings aren’t great either. It’s still interesting to see the kids interact.

The Sarah Jane Adventures Revenge of the Slitheen Part 2 S01E02 (BBC)

After each episode is aired on BBC One, viewers can see the next episode straight afterwards on the CBBC Channel. The show had a special last year and a new series started in September. I’ve watched a few episodes.

The Sarah Jane Adventures Revenge of the Slitheen Part 1 S01E01 (BBC)

I came across this show completely by accident. I usually keep tabs on Doctor Who, but the Sarah Jane Adventures airs on CBBC, the BBC children’s network. Actually After each episode is aired on BBC One, viewers can see the next episode straight afterwards on the CBBC Channel. The show had a special last year and a new series started in September. I’ve watched a few episodes.

Contact Lenses In Asia

It was time again to get some new contacts. After a visit to the ophthalmologist, I went to the nearest shop conveniently located next door.

I have astigmatism on top of myopia. General purpose contact lenses don’t work I had been wearing my monthly throwaway lenses for almost a year. It’s not recommended, but I finally got my health card and went through the motions.

Demon Grasshoppers And Emergent Behavior

Giant wetas are species of weta in the genus Deinacrida of the family Anostostomatidae. Giant wetas are endemic to New Zealand.

There are 11 species of giant weta, most of which are significantly larger than other weta, despite already being large by insect standards. They are heavy insects with a body length of up to 10 cm (4 in) not inclusive of its lengthy legs and antennae (total length can be 20cm or 8″), and weigh more than 70 g (2.5 oz), making it one of the heaviest documented insects in the world [1] and heavier than a sparrow. The largest species of giant weta is the Little Barrier Island giant weta also known as the wetapunga. Giant weta tend to be less social and more passive than other weta. Their genus name, Deinacrida, is Greek for terrible grasshopper. They are found primarily on New Zealand offshore islands, having been almost exterminated on the mainland islands by introduced mammalian pests.

Two portions of two great articles I found on Wikipedia last night. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

On Spike, Symria & NaNoWriMo And Haters

I took a long walk yesterday evening with Spike. I walked slowly and made Spike heel most of the time. It was good and towards the end, I let Spike off the leash to enjoy a few minutes of insane running with two other dogs. I’m reticent to let him off the leash too much. There are a lot of strays and you don’t really know how they will act with Spike. I know that he will always come to me when I call him, but I’m worried that sometimes his curiosity will get the better of him. In Canada, he was off leash at the dog park and other controlled environments.

Chuck S01E09 (NBC) Chuck Versus The Imported Hard Salami

Chuck is an American science-fiction television program created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. The series is about an “average computer-whiz-next-door” who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend Bryce Larkin, a rogue CIA agent, which happens to embed the world’s greatest spy secrets into his brain. This is called the intersect.

From the Wikipedia entry on Chuck.

City Homicide Raising The Dead S01E14 (Channel 7 AUS)

It’s the season finale of the Australian police prodedural drama City Homicide. I gave this series a go when it started. I was pleasantly surprised. The Australian feel for this drama is really nice. Much like British shows, City Homicide is quite different from American ones.
