I’ve changed my mind about Kid Nation. It’s just like some form of summer camp activity with cameras. CBS has noticed it as well, because the ratings aren’t great either. It’s still interesting to see the kids interact.
Taylor continues not to work and the town council intervenes to really punish her this time. The kids get a big reward and choose an arcade over library. The kids have trouble not being in the arcade, it’s kind of funny to watch.
I was surprised to see them gamble for money already. Blaine was playing for money on the pool table. This episode is all about education. Some kids love school, other hate it.

Taylor is having fun with some water. Meanwhile, Sophia tells Greg and Blaine that they should kill some chickens. Sophia wants to kill 10 chickens for a giant feast. There is a confrontation at the chicken coop. Sophia manages to barter a compromise between the increasingly violent factions.
The council reads the journal and they are given history books to study them. Blaine says that his district won’t cooperate, they are very young. Sophia is a born educator. She has her district act out what they learn in the history books.
Taylor is completely against it and she rebels with Leila. The council comes to talk to Taylor and Leila. They tell them that their reward will be taken away. Leila goes to study.
The showdown is about the history books. It’s a pop quiz about questions about the history books. They have to pop balloons with the ammo. The green district is upper class. Blue are the merchants. Yellow are the cooks. The red district is the laborers. They have to measure their ammo to see if they won the big reward. They win the reward. It’s the choice a library and an arcade. All the games in the arcade are free. Michael doesn’t want the arcade, but the others insist that it would be best for the best for the town. They pick the arcade and Taylor won’t be able to play the games.
The green district goes directly to the arcade, except Sophia. She is building the library. She buys the rest of the books from the dry goods store.
The red district has to fill up the tank halfway at least. Jared and Mike leave their jobs to go to the arcade. DK sees them and tries to bring them back out. They won’t listen. Hunter from the green district helps out. It looks like they are setting him up to get the gold star.
Zach tries to talk with Taylor about her work ethic. He goes about it in a nice way and gets Taylor to work. The dishes are disgusting. She decides on washing the dishes in order to get into the arcade. Kelsey helps her. Hunter helps her later on in the day. Greg and Blaine tell her that she can go into the arcade.
The next morning, all of the districts are at the arcade. Sophia from the upper class green district is starting breakfast all by herself. The yellow district is in the arcade.
DK thinks that getting the arcade wasn’t a great idea. Blaine is gambling on some pool.
DK brings it up during the town meeting. The town council decides to have the kids do all of their work before going into the arcade. The town council elects Sophia as the town sheriff, to enforce the rule of working hard before going into the arcade. Hunter gets the next gold star.
