Beth discovers more about Mick than she wants to and delves deeper into the world of vampires. This episode is about a rogue vampire creating havoc in LA. Mick is dispatched to clean up the situation.
Just like Angel and Forever Knight, we see snippets of Mick’s past. Mick has only been a vampire for about 60 years, so there’s nothing too crazy to see. However he was turned into a vampire on his wedding night by his sire Coraline. It wasn’t a happy time. Yet she did instruct him on what to do and how to interact with mortals.
The rogue vampire loose in the city is feral and creating problems in the vampire community. I liked this episode. I’m still not totally bored by this show, it has some redeeming qualities. The actors aren’t that bad and stories are getting better. I’d pick Moonlight over Flash Gordon or Painkiller Jane.

Beth comes by to see Mick, but hesitates to knock. Mick sees her on his screens. Beth asks him about vampires. Mick tells her that there are a few hundred vampires in LA. Beth asks him how he became a vampire and Mick remembers when he was turned in LA in 1952. Mick doesn’t get into anymore details.
There is a hit and run and a vampire uses a Good Samaritan’s help to quench his thirst. The Good Samaritan becomes a new vampire and tries different foods before realizing that he wants blood. Beth is reporting on the story. She asks her friend Carl the cop. Carl says that the dead clerk’s blood was completely drained.
Mick is called by Guillermo, his friend in the coroner’s office. They examine the clerk’s body and Mick thinks that it’s a newly turned vampire whose sire isn’t controlling him. He thinks that there is a rogue vampire out there. Beth sees him at the coroner’s office and they strategize. Mick wants to find the sire.
We see another scene from Mick’s past. It’s the first moment after he was sired.
Mick goes to see Joseph. Joseph sends him to see the Cleaner. Mick has never needed her services. She gives him the name of the vampire who called her last night for an emergency clean up. Beth is researching vampires.
Mick finds the vampire, Gerald Stowski. He is a rocket scientist. He confesses that he was involved in an accident. That he drained the driver and thought he was dead. He called the cleaning service afterwards. He tells Mick that the rogue said he was a doctor.
The rogue vampire doctor is still hunting. He drains another victim. Jeff the doctor vampire is back home. His wife finds him sleeping naked in the refrigerator.
Mick has Beth check the police reports to find the vampire doctor. They find him thanks to his abandoned car. At his home, they find the doctor’s wife’s body. Stowski shows up at the doctor’s house. He doesn’t want Mick to kill his new son. He stakes Mick.
Pollock is at his hospital and about to loose control when Stowski turns up. He isn’t able to stop Pollock. Stowski runs away and gets caught by the Cleaner. Mick confronts Pollock. Mick tries to convince Pollock not to go mad in bloodlust. There is a fight and Mick stakes Pollock. He then takes him to the incinerator to dust him.
Mick tells Beth about his turning and how he became a vampire. He says that he trusts her.
