Doctor Who is a long-running, award-winning British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller known as “the Doctor” who travels in his space and time-ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the exterior to be a blue police phone box. With his companions, he explores time and space, solving problems and righting wrongs.

The show’s lead character is currently portrayed by David Tennant. A Christmas special co-starring Kylie Minogue aired in December 2007, and the fourth series started on 5 April 2008. For that series, Catherine Tate will reprise her role of Donna Noble, from the 2006 Christmas special, as the Doctor’s latest companion. Midway through the series, Freema Agyeman will also return to her role of Martha Jones, following a multi-episode guest appearance in the Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood. John Barrowman will continue his role as Captain Jack Harkness, and Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler for three episodes. Elisabeth Sladen is also set to return as Sarah Jane Smith in a cameo role.

After a 2008 Christmas special and three further specials starring David Tennant, scheduled to air in 2009, Doctor Who is planned to return in 2010 for a fifth full length series.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

The Doctor is a long lived alien from the planet Gallifrey. He’s a Time Lord and travels through time thanks to his aging time capsule the Tardis. David Tennant is the tenth Doctor. My favorite has always been Tom Baker as the fourth Doctor. The Doctor periodically regenerates. When he does so, he changes outward appearance which let the producers change actors easily. All Time Lords regenerate 13 times. The Doctor’s nemesis is the Master, a renegade Time Lord who found a way around this limit. Other enemies include the Black Guardian, the Daleks and the Cybermen.

During the previous serials, before 2005, Gallifrey was alive and well. It appears that for the new series, the Doctor is the only survivor of the last great Time War between the Dalek Empire and the Time Lords.

This is one of the best Doctor Who episodes I’ve ever seen. Everything is in there. Torchwood, Sarah Jane Smith, Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, UNIT, the great enemy and the darkness.

It’s one of the best ways to end this series as well. The Rose Tyler stories are done, the Daleks are destroyed, at least for now. The Doctor is alone once again, after he had to leave Donna Noble back on Earth. The memories she had of the Doctor didn’t gel well with her human consciousness.

I’m actually surprised that they aren’t thinking about making feature movies with Doctor Who. It would be pretty damn good.

We left the Doctor while he was regeneration after being hit by a Dalek energy beam. While he regenerates, he points the energy to the hand sitting in a tank. It absorbs the energy and the Doctor is fine.

Mickey and Jackie arrive to save Sarah Jane. Gwen an Ianto empty their magazines, but the bullets are frozen in midair, as if time was frozen. Ianto investigates and says that it’s a time lock, the ultimate defense. Something that Toshiko was working on.

The Doctor blows on the hand. He explains that once he was healed, she siphoned the energy to another receptacle, mainly his hand in the tank.

They are trapped in a time bubble. They can’t get out.

The Daleks find the TARDIS and initiate a temporal prison. The Supreme Dalek wants them back. They transfer the TARDIS to the Crucible. Sarah Jane wants to use the dimensional jumps to get to the Crucible, but they need to recharge. Sarah Jane and her party surrender so that they can get to the Doctor.

Martha Jones teleports away. She transports to Nüremberg. It’s funny, because she can hear Daleks giving their orders in German. It’s eerie and reminiscent of the Nazi regime for some reason. Daleks are flying all around.

Captain Jack says that the Daleks are transporting them to the Crucible, the giant Dalek ship. The Doctor wants to know about the future. Rose says that the stars get swallowed up one by one by the darkness. Rose says that they had to develop a dimensional cannon so that she could come back to find him. The dimensions are collapsing or being destroyed in all worlds.

All the timelines seems to converge on Donna.

The Dalek Crucible looks like a mega death star. The Supreme Dalek wants the Doctor out. The Doctor says that they are facing a fully fledged Dalek Empire. There is no way that the doors will hold, even with extrapolating shielding. There is a moment where Donna seems to lose herself.

The Doctor thinks it’s the end. Donna can hear a beating heart. She looks back and looks at the TARDIS console. It’s the heart of the TARDIS.

The Supreme Dalek wants to destroy the TARDIS. He ejects it into the Z-Neutrino energy heart of the Crucible. It will tear the TARDIS apart with Donna inside. Inside the TARDIS, Donna hears the beating heart and touches the hand in the tank. The energy from the regeneration floods into her. The tank is broken and the hand is out. Energy floods out of it and another Doctor appears reconstituted from the hand.

Captain Jack fires his gun, and the Supreme Dalek fires his energy beam. He looks dead, but Captain Jack can’t die.

The TARDIS is out of the crucible. It’s in silent running. The Doctor has a human body with only one heart. He’s part timelord part human. The Doctor says that something has been drawing them together for all this time. The signs are converging, but heading for what?

Martha Jones meets with some German UNIT matron. When Martha opens a door, the matron pulls a gun. She threatens to kill her. She says that Martha is the nightmare, not the Daleks. She enters a control room and uses a radio to communicate with other Osterhagen stations.

Captain Jack is about to be incinerated. He gets out just in time.

The Doctor and Rose are imprisoned by Davros. The Doctor discovers that the Daleks have imprisoned Davros as well.

Dalek Caan is the last of the Cult of Skarro. He saw time, it’s infinite complexity in his mind. Dalek Caan says that one of the Children of Time will die. Davros says something about a reality bomb. He wants to discover the true face of the Doctor.

Sarah Jane and Mickey get away just in time. Jackie is stuck helping a woman. They get hit by the reality bomb. The 27 planets are in action. Z-Neutrino energy flattened by the alignments of the planets. The dimensional cannon is recharged and Jackie uses it. The blast dissolves the prisoners. Davros explains that the prisoners were dissolved. The energy holding their atoms together was countered by the blast. He plans on using it on the entire universe. He plans on blasting it across the entire universe. Everything will become dust. The wavelength will break through the heart of the Medusa Cascade and into all realities and dimensions. Davros wants to destroy all of creation. They will become the only living creatures.

Captain Jack arrives to meet Sarah Jane and Mickey. Sarah Jane has a warp star. It’s an explosion caught in a gem.

Three Osterhagen stations have reported for UNIT. Martha Jones sends a transmission to the Crucible. A chain of 25 nuclear warheads placed in the strategic places on Earth. The Osterhagen Key is activated it destroys the Earth. She threatens to use it.

Captain Jack transmits. He’s got a warp star wired into the mainframe.

Davros says that he takes ordinary people and transforms them into weapons. Ready to murder for him.

The Daleks engage a transmit beam and transport all of them to Davros’ vault. Their gambit didn’t work.

The second Doctor appears with his weapon and Donna. Davros electrocutes him and traps him. Donna takes the weapon. Davros electrocutes her as well.

Stand witness time lord, stand witness humans, your strategies have failed, your weapons are useless. And… Oh, the end of the universe has come.
Davros

Everything shuts down. Donna stopped the detonation. She shuts Dalek weaponry. It turns out that Donna is part timelord. The biological meta crisis was two way. The crisis made the second Doctor.

They send back all of the planets.

Dalek Caan knew that it would happen this way. The Supreme Dalek is destroyed. The second Doctor knows that he must destroy all of the Daleks. The Doctor wants to save Davros, but he will never come. He calls the Doctor the destroyer of worlds. Dalek Caan says that one of them will still die.

The Earth is still in the wrong place. He plans on flying the Earth back home, thanks to the rift in Cardiff. Mr. Smith uses the TARDIS basecode from K9, who makes a quick appearance, so that the rift energy is toe-roped around the TARDIS.

Dårlig Ulv Stranden, better known as Bad Wolf Bay. It’s in the parallel universe. They drop off the second Doctor and Rose. The second Doctor committed genocide in killing the Daleks. The second Doctor has only got one life, he’ll grow old and die. Rose and the second Doctor kiss. Donna and the Doctor leave.

Something is wrong with Donna. There has never be a human-timelord metacrisis before. There can’t be. The Doctor erases her mind and sends her back to her life. The Doctor explains to her mother and granddad that she took his mind into hers. The Doctor has to erase all of those memories from her mind, otherwise she will die. She can never remember what happened. The Doctor just leaves her there and gets back into the TARDIS by himself.
