The Goonies

I watched the Goonies last night. It was as good as I remembered. I went through the Wikipedia page and saw that there was some controversy about the language that the kids used in the movie. To be honest, I did notice it. It made me smile more than anything else.

I was surprised that I didn’t recognize Brolin from No Country for Old Men. I checked up on the cast and confirmed that Sean Austin was the most active in recent years. Corey Feldman still plays in some movies, but I remember that he has had a drug problem for a number of years.

I remember seeing this movie in 1986, when it came out. I really loved it back then and this most recent viewing just confirms this. I see the movie with different eyes, but I still like the same things. The crazy machines they made to open doors and the crazy machines that Data had hidden beneath his trench coat.

Anyway, it’s a great movie and I’m sure that kids will still like watching it today.
