I have to say that the season premiere of Sanctuary impressed me quite a bit. From on online show, Sanctuary has developed a lot. The show has a lot more money poured into it. Plus, the story is just getting interesting, with Magnus and her acolytes fighting the Cabal.
The premiere impressed me enough to want to write something up for it. I watched all of last season while it was being aired, and I really enjoyed where the end of the season was heading. The Sanctuary is a place where all abnormals can go to seek Sanctuary from the modern world. Abnormals come in all different types, from vampires to Yeti. I know that it sounds a bit stupid, but the show matured well into its new TV format, especially towards the end of last season.
This season is no different. Well, actually it is, but things just keep getting better. We’ve got a dark conspiracy, a kidnapped daughter that’s been brainwashed, and the Sanctuary team trying to right wrongs.

This was somewhat of a better episode than the last one. The abnormal featured in this show is quite interesting. It basically boils down to a love triangle.

Henry is talking to some woman named Rachel. She’s hot and talking about feeding Jack. She arrives at a lab and then Henry hears a monster eating her up, or something along those lines.
Rachel is still alive. Henry, Kate, and Will arrive. Magnus thinks that Rachel is infected. If the creature lay spores, it means that Rachel is dead.
Will and Kate track the creature and take it down. Henry has been working with Rachel’s team for about 5 years. Jack was supposed to be tame, he’s never been known for releasing his spores before.
Magnus and the Big Guy find out that Rachel has been infected. The spores are active. Henry finishes the scan and starts to eradicate the spores in the room. The technology he uses looks really cool, a sort of mix between steampunk and new tech. The cops arrive but Henry gets away with their tech.
Henry says that they used Will’s specs and his design to come up with the equipment. He’s trying to find out what happened using the holographic scans.
Rachel’s husband Gerald arrives. The Big Guy and Magnus realize that they can’t save Rachel. The infestation has spread. Magnus needs Gerald’s research on the spores in order to try and create a toxin.
Will and Kate try to reconstruct what happened using Henry’s model. They aren’t sure what exactly happened. Jack tries to attack the Big Guy when he collects the spores. He’s able to calm him down.
Gerald takes a gun and tries to kill Jack. He’s not successful.
Kate and Will find out that Rachel was trying to inject the Plesci with something. She didn’t go with the tranq gun. Betametasone was what she was trying to inject. It’s a common immuno-depressor. Will decides to talk with Jack. He doesn’t get much.
Will talks with Magnus. She says that what Rachel was doing made sense if she knew that his ACTH levels were too high. It has something to do with the Plesci’s natural habitat. They think that Jack was exposed to something.
Magnus talks with Gerald. He didn’t think that the Plescis were tame. He thinks that her research was pointless, but he let her go on. They are natural predators. You cannot change this.
The toxins work on Rachel, but she crashes and flatlines. They have no choice left. The Big Guy has to use his medicine bag. She stabilizes.
The ACTH levels in Jack. Jack told Will that the fungus came from the food. It leads them back to Gerald. He infected the food with the fungus. Gerald admits that he was trying to kill Henry, not Rachel. Gerald stabs Henry to reveal the inner wolf. Magnus and the Big Guy arrive just in time to stop him. He was trying to make Henry kill him. Anyway, this is messed up. He thought that Rachel spent too much time with Jack and Henry.
Rachel recovers. Rachel tells Henry that she loves him. She married Gerald because he asked. Henry says that they can’t be together.
