Scott F01 Aero Bike

Just before the Tour started last week, Scott announced their new aero bike the F01. A few manufacturers now have these types of frames, undoubtedly the most well known is Cervelo.

The bare frame weighs only 5% more than the standard Addict, 840g. Expected weight for the frame, fork, clamp, seatpost and headset is 1,277g. Scott claims that this frame is more efficient that Cervelo’s S3 and Felt’s AR, even though it doesn’t look that aero at first glance. Scott uses aggressive aero shaped tubes to do this, while still working inside the UCI framework.

The F01 will be released in a limited fashion for the 2011 model year and more widely for 2012.
