I didn’t expect much of this show, but the first episode was intriguing. All in all, it’s a basic police procedural drama, with a woman acting as a lead detective. It’s not something that hasn’t been done before and by no means is it as compelling as The Closer, but it’s not bad. What makes this show worth watching is Sasha Alexander, who plays the Medical Examiner. It’s too bad that they lifter her character right out from Bones. Dr. Isles has got similar traits as Dr. Temperance Brennan played by Emily Deschanel.

Rizzoli and Isles head to a new crime scene. The girl was shot in the chest. Her name was Danielle Davis. She has no laptop and all of her text messages have been deleted. Her BFF arrives on scene.
At her dorm, the RA arrives. The dad arrives as well. Not much to add to the overall picture. Danielle had a full ride scholarship and was a division 1 soccer player. Her laptop hasn’t turned up yet.
Isles discovers that she had a ruptured ligament. She needed surgery. She hadn’t been playing soccer for a while. When she got hurt, she lost her scholarship.
Her tuition was pulled off. She paid off $57K in a lump payment herself. She had a lot of text messages from Brandon Lewis, her obvious boyfriend. Her BFF says that she broke that off a month ago. Ever since she got hurt playing soccer, she was sad about everything.
They trace the locker key to a high end gym. Inside, there is a nice dress and some high-heels. She’s an escort, that much is obvious.
Hos still need to keep schedule.
Rizzoli has to help her mom with her car. They trace the laptop to a repair shop. The rent-a-cop stole Danielle’s laptop and tried to have her repaired.
Frost finds her hooker book on her laptop. It looks like a college schedule. They find the john with whom she was the night before she died. She was sleeping with a professor. He recently sold his house. Danielle seemed disgusted by what she had to do.
They go see Hilliard. They find him dead. They find the gun which killed Danielle in his hand. It’s an obvious setup. Hilliard has been withdrawing $15K a month for a year and a half. Someone was blackmailing him. It couldn’t have been Danielle.
Corsac is able to find the numbers on the gun. It traces to Scott, the RA. He’s got 3 other handguns registered.
They find out that Natalie, Danielle’s BFF, was hooking as well. Scott pulls a gun on Natalie. His part time job was pimping. He shoots her and tries to get away. The pimp shoots at Rizzoli and tries to run, but Rizzoli shoots him dead with one shot.
Natalie is alive. Lucas had a half dozen girls working off student debt.
