I’ve been a Nathan Fillion fan for quite a while. Ever since Firefly, I was really impressed by his acting. Since he is starring in a new series named Castle, I took it upon myself to watch it weekly.
Anyway, what do I like about Castle? Well it stars an obnoxious, womanizing novelist. Detective Kate Beckett is a closet hottie, played by Stana Katic. Her hotness is kind of hard to explain. The actress is quite hot, but in Castle, she toned it down. She doesn’t wear much makeup and favors a natural look, kind of like “Oh I’m hot, but I could be the girl next door, BTW, FYI, I’m still smoking hot.” That’s how I described her in my mind. She’s kind of got the ex-catwalk model look going for her, which is quite good.
So that’s a good point. Plus she’s Canadian and a good actress. That’s always a good combination.

The show centers around a novelist who is brought in to help deal with a string of murders which seem to be taken from the pages of his novels. At the same time, Castle has hit massive writer’s block after killing off the hero of his mystery book franchise, Derek Storm. Through Beckett, he is able to write once again.
Halfway between a drama and a romantic comedy, Castle is a fun show to watch. The characters play around a lot, making the viewer wonder when or if they will ever get together. It didn’t take Castle long to find out what makes Beckett tick. He uses clues and his imagination deftly.
ABC has started to release chapters of Richard Castle’s new book Heat Wave on its website. They are up to chapter 8 and I haven’t started yet, but it’s a pretty cool tie-in to the show.

Stacy Collins was found impaled. She was a high-end matchmaker. Natalie Rhodes, the actress who might portray Beckett arrives. Natalie doesn’t know who Castle is. The killer took Collins’ key for a reason; her office was trashed.
Esposito and Ryan are told by Stacy’s assistant that a few months ago, she started refusing clients. Stacy just broke up with her boyfriend Brad. They had an argument.
During, the interviews, Natalie sits in and she is taking copious notes on what Beckett is saying.
Beckett interviews Brad. He says that Stacy cheated. It started two months ago. He’s got an alibi. CSU found a key hidden under a tile. Castle keeps trying to impress Rhodes, who doesn’t care about him.
Stacy got a call before she was killed from Duke Jones. He’s got a record. She was paying him $5K a week for the last two months. They go see Duke. He’s a PI. He was running background checks on her clients. She had made a bad call and it had come back to bite her in the ass.
The hidden key opens the back of the old jukebox in Stacy’s office. They find a bag inside of it. It’s filled with money, a couple of $100K’s worth. Natalie says that the bag is expensive and the German manufacturer registers all owners. The bag belongs to Tonya Wellington. Tonya and Bill were invited to Stacy’s party. They declined the invitation. They question her. She’s surrounded by attorneys. Stacy helped Tonya meet her rich husband. She doesn’t answer any questions.
Natalie is starting to sound and look like Beckett. Tonya’s husband was the bad client. He’s been divorcing his ex-wives. The $250K was a payment to break up the Wellington’s prenup. It has an infidelity clause and the husband now owes $100 million to Tonya. This is listed in the divorce papers. The girl Bill was sleeping with was Chloe, Duke’s assistant.
They question him, but he was in HK. He didn’t know about what Tonya or Stacy did. Duke is gone, as is Chloe.
Chloe is Greta Morgan, an exotic dancer with a record.
Natalie is really good at mimicking Beckett. She looks like Beckett now.
Greta was staying at a hotel. At the hotel, they say that a cop was looking for her. No cops were looking for her. It turns out that Greta was holding other rooms at other hotels. They were honey trapping other men.

-Hiding from creepy Beckett.

There are other couples filing for divorce. They find her at one of the hotels. They arrest her. Natalie does a really good Beckett. Scott Donner and Rich Weiss are the husbands. Both of the wives confirm that they went home together. Scott Donner is the one, because he went missing for a while at the party. They go see him. He confesses. He’s got a gun and pulls it on himself. Natalie talks him down.
Ryan proposes to his girlfriend.
