The new Doctor Who: Matt Smith
Doctor Who is a long-running, award-winning British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller known as “the Doctor” who travels in his space and time-ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the exterior to be a blue police phone box. With his companions, he explores time and space, solving problems and righting wrongs.
The show’s lead character is currently portrayed by David Tennant. A Christmas special co-starring Kylie Minogue aired in December 2007, and the fourth series started on 5 April 2008. For that series, Catherine Tate will reprise her role of Donna Noble, from the 2006 Christmas special, as the Doctor’s latest companion. Midway through the series, Freema Agyeman will also return to her role of Martha Jones, following a multi-episode guest appearance in the Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood. John Barrowman will continue his role as Captain Jack Harkness, and Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler for three episodes. Elisabeth Sladen is also set to return as Sarah Jane Smith in a cameo role.
Matt Smith takes over the reigns of Doctor Who in this serial.

The Doctor is a long lived alien from the planet Gallifrey. He’s a Time Lord and travels through time thanks to his aging time capsule the Tardis. David Tennant is the tenth Doctor. My favorite has always been Tom Baker as the fourth Doctor. The Doctor periodically regenerates. When he does so, he changes outward appearance which let the producers change actors easily. All Time Lords regenerate 13 times. The Doctor’s nemesis is the Master, a renegade Time Lord who found a way around this limit. Other enemies include the Black Guardian, the Daleks and the Cybermen.
During the previous serials, before 2005, Gallifrey was alive and well. It appears that for the new series, the Doctor is the only survivor of the last great Time War between the Dalek Empire and the Time Lords.
This was a pretty good episode, leading up to the end of the season. This is the episode where the Doctor leaves Amy and Rory behind to live their life.

A WPC named Lucy Hayward is opening some doors in a hotel. There are strange things waiting for her inside of each. Some creature is causing this. She keeps saying praise him. Something comes for her.
Let’s go to Raven’s Gala. The people are 600 feet tall, you have to talk to them in hot air balloons, and the tourist information center is made out of one of their hats, he says. I’m sorry, but I don’t see any hats.
Amy paraphrasing the Doctor
The Doctor, Rory, and Amy arrive at the same strange hotel. There are plenty of photos on the walls. One of them is of Lucy, and underneath it says ‘that brutal gorilla’.
It’s OK, we’re nice.
Rory
They come across three people. They say that the hotel is alive.
They’re not doors, they’re walls. Walls that look like doors, door walls if you like, or dwalls, wallrs even.
The Doctor
The nurse says that the rooms have bad things, bad dreams inside of them. The TARDIS is no longer there.
They say that there was another man with them. He’s all tied up. He says that now he’s ready for him, before he wasn’t. He was raw. He saw the light. He keeps talking about him. He’s gone a bit crazy. He says that soon he will feast.
The Doctor takes him out.
Here comes the candle to light up your bed, here comes the chopper to chop off your head. Chop, chop, chop.
Joe
The nerd starts hearing praise him after he opens a door with some girls inside. They mock him.
They step into a room to flee from something. Rita sees her dad, who’s angry with her for getting a B in math. Inside the room, Amy, Rory and the Doctor see some Weeping Angels. The Doctor realizes that they aren’t real. The Doctor looks through the door and sees a creature. Joe is freed and gets caught. The Doctor tries to chase the creature and Joe, but ends up a bit lost. Then he finds Joe. He looks catatonic and dead.
You haven’t just got a degree in cheese making, have you?
Rita
The papers that Amy found are the ones that Lucy wrote. The Doctor reads them out.
The nerd keeps repeating praise him. He blurts it out like he has no control over it. The alien wants to dump Howard outside. Howard gets possessed and the Doctor asks him a few questions. The Doctor says that the thing feeds on fear.
They trick the creature into the spa and lock it inside. The creature looks like a minotaur. It tells the Doctor that this is a prison. It tells the Doctor that they aren’t ripe yet.
I have lived so long that even my name is lost.
The creature
Howard gets out and calls forth the creature. Amy opens a door. Rita says that she shouldn’t have done that. Howard is dead.
Why is it up to you to save us? That’s quite a god complex you’ve got there.
Rita to the DoctorI brought them here. I’d say it was their choice, but offer a child a suitcase for a sweet and they’ll take it. Offer someone all of time and space, and they’ll take that too. Which is why you shouldn’t. WHich is why grownups were invented.
The Doctor
The Doctor notices the CCTV cameras that have been watching them. Rita is infected as well. She mutters praise him. The Doctor finds his room. It’s number 11. Amy’s was number 7.
The Doctor finds the security office. He sees Rita walking about. He calls her. She’s planning on sacrificing herself to the creature.
I can feel the rapture approaching like a wave.
Rita
Rita is dead. The Doctor realizes that it’s not fear, it’s faith. They don’t want Rory, because he’s got no faith or religion. It wants Amy because of her faith in the Doctor.
Amy is getting infected. The creature is walking about. It chases them. They get into a room. The Doctor is trying to destroy Amy’s faith in him by telling her that he always knew that this would happen. The creature bursts through the doors. It stops because Amy is losing her faith.
I really am just a madman in a box.
The Doctor
The creature stumbles out and collapses. The lights falter. The Doctor says that he severed the food supply, gave him enough space to die. The creature dies. The prison collapses into a grid. They are in some kind of spaceship, drifting in space.
They leave in the TARDIS. The Doctor brings them to a house and a red Jaguar. The Doctor is leaving them.
He’s saving us.
Amy to Rory
