The 10 Best Ipod Docks Best of 2008

Everyone who has an iPod or an iPhone needs a dock. There’s no way around this fact. There’s always the possibility of putting one together yourself or about connecting your iPod to your stereo system, but it’s just easier to have a dock to take care of that. Most of the time, you just plug in your iPod and you’re ready to listen to your tunes. That being said, there are thousands of different models on the market. Here we’ll show you ten of our favorites from this year. Read on to find out more.

We all need cell phones. They have become a ubiquitous sign of our times. We need to be in contact with our friends and family, which is why cell phones are everywhere. This year has been an incredible year for cell phones and cell phone concepts. We’ve seen phones that will compete with the iPhone, phones that are biodegradable, made out of E paper, and Steampunk phones. After the jump we list our ten favorite cell phones of this year…

Google Zeitgeist 2008

This year’s Zeitgeist has some predictable results like Sarah Palin, Heath Ledger and Facebook.

  1. sarah palin
  2. beijing 2008
  3. facebook login
  4. tuenti Spanish facebook
  5. heath ledger
  6. obama
  7. nasza klasa Polish facebook
  8. wer kennt wen German facebook
  9. euro 2008
  10. jonas brothers Some American boyband

Others are a bit more perplexing. I was curious enough to google them and find out more. All of the search words that I didn’t know are social networking sites, facebooks from other countries in other languages. A nice pêle-mêle.

First African-American President

I can’t believe it, yet it was an overwhelming victory. I still can’t put my head around it that the US voted for an African-American president. President-elect Barack Obama galvanized voters in huge turnouts tonight.

The exit polls found that a broad majority of voters considered the economy to be the most important issue facing the nation. And Mr. Obama was viewed as much more qualified than Mr.McCain to deal with that issue.

This means that the US will pull out of Iraq. The war, the exploitation, Halliburton, the POW, this will finally stop. I wonder how people from the middle east are reacting to this news.

101 Blowing Up

This is my favorite shot of the NYE at the Last Minute 2008. I’ve included this shot in the Taipei 101 On Fire 2008 Series.

I tried playing with it in Photoshop, but I didn’t get any good results. The shutter speed wasn’t long enough to capture any star details. Also, the fireworks washed them out.

Shutter: 1/30
Aperture: f/5.0
ISO 280
Focal Length: 55mm

The Light In The Dancer

Shot in RAW with a Nikon D200 and a 18-200mm VR lens. Part of the Last Minute 2008 Series.

Shutter speed: 6.0sec
RAW size: 15.3MB
Focal length: 18mm
Aperture: f/4.5
ISO 100

The photo was shot in RAW and post processed in Photoshop CS2.

Taipei 101 On Fire 2008

This was one of the best shots of the night.

/*

Photos taken during the first few minutes of 2008 in Taipei, Taiwan, Asia. I was camped out at the top of the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel in Taipei. I only realized later that I could have gone up the ladder and gotten an even better and steadier view. These were taken with a tripod, but it was a little shaky since I was near the top of banana tree. I didn’t have enough time to setup, so most of the shots are taken on automatic. Ideally I would have taken continual shots with a custom ISO setting. Some of the shots had a higher ISO than I would have liked and have a significant amount of noise.

Taken with a Nikon D200 and a 18-200VR lens on the 1st of January 2008. You can see the shots taken at the party here.
