WMF SmarTea Kettle: One Schmancy Tea Pot

How much tea do you drink each day? I drink a few cups, as well as at least a mug of coffee, so this might be a good addition to my modern technology-infused kitchen. This so-called “smartkettle” will update a routine that’s been pretty basic for the last few millennia.

Most of our readers are probably suffering from the adverse effects of winter’s cold and dry air right now (see our humidifier roundup). But conversely, there’s one thing that anyone living in a humid environment will appreciate: a good dehumidifier. It’s always surprising to discover the amount of moisture that can be extracted from ambient air, and these machines will keep your basements and apartments smelling clean.

Modern Microwaves for the 21st Century

121112_rg_SpaceMicrowave_01.jpgThere are some pieces of kitchen technology that don’t seem to evolve quickly. For example, microwaves from 20 years ago still basically look like the microwaves of today. However, there are new models equipped with updated technology to help you cook better than ever before in an instant…

Hue Toaster: Make Perfectly Brown Toast Each & Every Time

You know, when my toaster doesn’t get my piece of toast just right, I get really pissed off! OK, I don’t actually get that mad, but burnt toast is definitely an annoyance. Toaster tech hasn’t evolved much in the last century, but this smart toaster concept aims to take things into the 22nd century and beyond, at least for toast-making.

LG’s Anti-Mosquito Air Conditioner: Death to All Bloodsuckers!

If there’s one thing that I despise, it’s mosquitoes. The thing is that if they get into my bedroom or apartment, they will suck on my blood relentlessly, leaving everyone else alone. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I need the LG Anti-Mosquito Air Conditioner.

As cities get more polluted, it’s never a bad idea to add an air purifier in your apartment, especially if you have sensitive lungs like me. Pollen, cat hairs, and other particulates can easily find their way into your apartment, causing allergies and making it more difficult to get things done. Here are the best air purifiers we’ve found for smaller places.

Tyent Touchscreen Water Ionizer & Purifier: High-Tech Clean Water

Water purification is a booming business, especially in Asia where not all water coming out of the faucet is directly drinkable. The Tyent Water Ionizer and Purifier is the fancy touchscreen version, for those of you who want to insert a bit of technology into the filtering process.

Peel: Coffee Maker from the Future

This new coffee maker looks like it came straight out of the future to pour some hot java in your cup. The effect is supposed to mimic a “rich waterfall of coffee.” I’m not too sure about that, but it does look pretty unusual.

Alianoid Humidifiers: Steaming Mad Space Aliens

I don’t live in a dry climate, so I’ve rarely needed a humidifier, but if I did, I’d like one like this please. The Alianoid Humidifier was designed by Minwoo Lee and was inspired by alien robots from outer space. The small appliance has a unique look to distinguish itself from all of the others that are already available.

Darth Vader Hair Dryer: Luke, I Am Your Dryer!

I don’t think that Darth Vader has needed a hair dryer for a very long time, unless you count the few years that he was still a Jedi apprentice. He did have pretty long, flowing locks back then. Tembolat Gugkaev thought it was a good idea to use Darth Vader’s breathing apparatus as an inspiration for a hair dryer. All I have to say is that the Empire will enjoy nice, dry hair from now on!
