Billy’s Brother: A Great-Looking Slanted Bookshelf

Bill Geerhart writes letters to serial killers and powerful politicians posing as a ten year old, asking for advice on whether he should drop out of school. They all responded. I liked Clarence Thomas’ response the best. Dick Cheney’s wasn’t bad either. Arnold Schwarznegger’s was a bit of a let down. (via cf)

In the late ’90s, pop-culture historian Bill Geerhart had a little too much time on his hands and a surfeit of stamps. So, for his own entertainment, the then-unemployed thirtysomething launched a letter-writing campaign to some of the most powerful and infamous figures in the country, posing as a curious 10-year-old named Billy.
