There are so many fruit crates and pallets that just get wasted. This is one of the reasons why Sergio Mendoza created these lamps out of just those materials, including bits of porcelain for good measure.

Banana Vending Machine Doles Out Fruits in Japan

Apparently, the Japanese enjoy vending machines so much that they keep coming up with new things to sell in them. Take for instance, Dole, who has just announced that they will be selling bananas through vending machines in Japan. It’s interesting, but I’d just pop by to see a human fruit vendor instead, not a robotic one.

Fruits and Veg

At the end of the day, it’s always surprising at the amount of fruits and veg that I eat in a day. Since I am on a partial raw food diet, I choose to eat almost all of my veg raw. Naturally, fruits are all raw as well. I’m still sticking to this diet, but since I’ve started training harder, I’ve had to incorporate some carbs in the form of multigrain pasta from time to time.
All of my meat is usually cooked as well, except sushi, which I eat from time to time. Still, I eat a lot of fruits. This is what I’ve eaten today:
- 5 clementines
- 10 oranges
- 3 Bartlett pears
- 1/16 watermelon
- a few raisins in 0% fruit yogurt
- snow peas, bean sprouts, chick peas
- salad
- 1/4 green pepper
Today I cooked a gigantic chili con carne. I’m slow cooking it with some onions, red beans and chick peas. All the veg will be added as I eat. That lets me put in the veg raw. I bought two large packets of spare ribs for the weekend.
For some reason, each time I press my own orange juice, it makes me really feel alive. I need to get a juicer ASAP. I tried my mom’s and it was really good. I drank a mixed veg/fruit juice, which included pears, apples, carots, ginger, oranges, lime and spinach. It was surprisingly sweet. I could have cut down on the fruits in that mix. And it was really good.
