Fujitsu Lifebook Frame Concept: Too Wide for Its Own Good?

I get that widescreen tablets might work for some people, but ultimately, their proportions make them harder to do anything but watch movies on them. Still, this widescreen portable concept looks interesting. As with some of the other concepts in the ‘A Life with Future Computing‘ designboom curated Fujitsu competition, it showcases some interesting features.

Split Concept by Dae Hoon Jung: Mobile Devices, Assemble!

Here’s another shortlisted entry into designboom’s 2011 Fujitsu Design Award. It was created by the Korean designer Dae Hoon Jung, and it’s called the Split. It splits up, in an analogue way to the Bento Book concept, offering mobile computing among a host of gadgets. Unlike the Bento, all modular elements are part of the computer, and they can be controlled remotely via the tablet or the smartphone.

Fujitsu Flexbook Concept: Folding Tablet/Netbook Fits in Your Pocket

The Flexbook was created by Taiwan-based designer Hao-Chun Huang for entry into Fujitsu’s 2011 Design Award contest. As the name implies, it’s basically a foldable netbook that can also be used as a tablet. The design is supposed to be waterproof, but only time will tell if this is possible in this form factor.

Straight out of Steven Spielberg’s AI, Fujitsu has just unveiled its newest robot: a social robot teddy bear. What can it do? Probably a whole lot and guess what, it speaks Japanese!

Fujitsu Tests Energy Monitoring Power Strip

Usually, energy monitors need to be plugged into the power grid in some fashion, but these things are just what they are advertised to be: power strips that monitor how much electricity is shunted through them.
