Sands Of Time

I’ve noticed that a few sites are picking up my posts without giving credit. I think that they are splogs.

I’m busy listening to the Lords of the Rings OST and writing nowadays. I’ve made some good progress. Contrary to my initial expectations, I’ve only written about 5000 words on Symria this week. I’ve been sick with a fever. It’s really annoying sometimes working with small kids. They get sick and I get sick.

NaNoWriMo Completed, Still Writing Symria

Well, I’ve managed to write 50000 words this month.

It was quite a challenge. I was able to power through last night. The deadline in my timezone was nearing fast and I was still a few thousand words shy of the 50K. Towards the end, it was getting late and I wasn’t making much sense.

Then I took a bathroom break and came back and found that the stuff that I had written wasn’t too bad. It was good. I continued on and managed to write my 50000 words. I went to bed swearing and woke up swearing as well.

2 Days To Go NaNoWriMo

Well, I’ve hit 44000 words tonight. I’ve got 6000 left in two days. That should be a cinch.

4 Days To Go NaNoWriMo

I’ve got four days left until NaNoWriMo is finished. I’ve broken the 40000 word mark. It took me a bit longer than expected, but I’m still confident that I’ll finish in time. I’ve set myself a little goal today. I want to reach 45000 by the end of the day. I’ve already written 1500 words today.

On Spike, Symria & NaNoWriMo And Haters

I took a long walk yesterday evening with Spike. I walked slowly and made Spike heel most of the time. It was good and towards the end, I let Spike off the leash to enjoy a few minutes of insane running with two other dogs. I’m reticent to let him off the leash too much. There are a lot of strays and you don’t really know how they will act with Spike. I know that he will always come to me when I call him, but I’m worried that sometimes his curiosity will get the better of him. In Canada, he was off leash at the dog park and other controlled environments.

Out Of It

I was completely out of it last night. I spent about an hour painting with watercolors and then moved on to bed after falling asleep on CSI Miami.

Stories Page Updated

With all this writing that I’m doing for NaNoWriMo, I got a feeling that it would be a good idea to update by Stories page on this blog, which indexes all of my creative writing. I haven’t updated the Articles page in months and I’m not sure that I’m going to do it. There are a lot of posts to go through.

A quick update: I’m at around 30000 words for Symria. The target is to reach 50000 by the end of the month.

Another quick word to all you haters out there, I always post my sources when I quote someone. All of the words from the Theresa Duncan and Jeremy Blake post are mine. I’d thought that I’d just to make things clear.

Strange Happenings

Strange stuff just keeps happening today.

This morning, on my way to work on my scooter, it was raining. I hate being on the bike when it rains, it totally sucks balls. My visor keeps getting fogged up, the end of my trousers is wet for most of the day, and I just don’t like it.

Symria And NaNoWriMo

Just thought that I’d give everyone a quick NaNoWriMo update.

I’ve successfully written over 20300 at the writing of this post. I have about 30000 left to complete this novel. Symria is progressing well. I’ve honestly become totally obsessed and focused about this story. The story is slowly taking shape, and I am inserting more elements of the Symrian Mythos that I need. I keep a notebook with me at all times to write down ideas as they come to me. I’ve dreamt about the story and found new ideas. I’ve been at work and had new ideas. I like typing out the things I’ve written down by hand. It gives you the time to rewrite and edit things. I’ve also done a lot of research over the last few days. I wanted to have about 30000 by tonight. We’ll see how things go later. Right now, things are really good. There is a lot of editing needed in certain parts and minor rewrites, such as the prologue and the first interlude, but all in all, I’m pretty happy.
