The Cykno Electric Bicycle, Perfect for Your Steampunk Adventures

There are plenty of electric bikes around, and if you use one as a mode of transportation, it’s nice to have that little extra boost to get you home just a little faster. Also, cruising along one one is pretty nice.

Atomic Clear Tube Lighting: Turn Your Pad into Your Steampunk HQ

There are plenty of different kinds of lights to illuminate your home or office with, but I’ve never seen anything quite as interesting as these lights. They almost look like neon tubes, but the designers say that they can be used to light up ceilings, walls, floors, and just about anything else.

Ramos Alarm Clock: Get out of Bed, Sleepyhead!

Alarms clocks are a dime a dozen, but this beautiful bedside clock aims to shake things up a bit. Designed and engineered by Paul Sammut, the Nixie Ramos is part of a Kickstarter project featuring two decidedly different versions of the same clock. While the LED version is interesting, the Nixie version is the one you’ll want, but in order to get it, you’ll have to pay quite a lot more. That being said, the clock is handmade.

Steampunk iPhone Dock and Handset: The Past is Calling, Will You Accept the Charges?

Remember that minimal Bluetooth handset? Well it looks like Woodguy32 has decided to put his own spin on the whole iPhone handset thing, with this steampunk-inspired dock. Except for the handset, most of this thing is made out of oak wood and brass, which is good, and it’s also really nice and retro.

Rotary Cell Phone: Steampunk at its Best

It’s true that a lot of cell phones tend to look alike. That’s not the case with this cool retro concept that was created by Richard Clarkson. He calls it the Rotary Mechanical cell phone concept. It’s supposed to replicate the functionality of a smartphone, with some analog style.

Toy Modder Gives Iron Man a Steampunk Make-Over

While the steampunk Iron Man costume might not have been easy to reproduce, that didn’t stop toy modder Jonathan Kuriscak from putting together this cool-looking steampunk tribute to Iron Man – in miniature form. It’s pretty detailed and Kuriscak is selling it on eBay right now.

Steam-Powered Record Player: Taking Steampunk Too Far

It looks like someone is taking the whole steampunk thing a bit too far with this steam-powered record player. Would you want one? Seriously, I wouldn’t. My Technics SL1200s does the job fine. However, this thing is still pretty amazing.

Terminal World By Alastair Reynolds

Terminal World cover via Wikipedia

I finally managed to get my hands on Alastair Reynolds’ last book, Terminal World. One of the reasons why I had waited for a while is that the story was very steampunk-ish, and I don’t think that Alastair Reynolds should write steampunk. He should write hard science-fiction. Actually, I don’t really like reading about steampunk. I much prefer to read hard science-fiction, fiction, and fantasy.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Handmade LED Watch: It’s Digital, But Still Steampunk-y

While it seems dubious that anyone in the Victorian era had an LED wristwatch, that didn’t stop Eric Schleapfer from putting one together himself.
