Chuck Versus the Zoom S05E01 (NBC)

Chuck intertitle, via Wikipedia

Chuck is an American science-fiction television program created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. The series is about an “average computer-whiz-next-door” who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend Bryce Larkin, a rogue CIA agent, which happens to embed the world’s greatest spy secrets into his brain. This is called the intersect.

From the Wikipedia entry on Chuck.

While Chuck has to deal with his new situation, he gets to enjoy the company of Sarah, working for the CIA, and Casey, working for the DOD. They use him as an asset to accomplish their missions, which surprisingly happen around town (?).

Chuck has just started its third season and it’s still entertaining. The mix between an everyday guy and espionage doesn’t get boring, since the character of Chuck actually puts us in these situations as well. I recommend it, though it’s not for everybody.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Dexter Those Kinds of Things S06E01 (Showtime)

Red stairs

Dexter stars Michael C. Hall, most known for his role as David in the HBO drama Six Feet Under. Michael C Hall plays Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter specialist working in Miami for the police.

A lot has changed for Dexter this season. He’s no longer married because Trinity killed Rita. Cody and Astor are living with their grandparents in Orlando. Dexter spent most of season 5 living with Lumen and helping her avenge herself from the little rape and murder club that was going on.

Season 5 was pretty incredible. Dexter just keeps getting better. It’s been a while since I wrote this and I just didn’t have time to post these, so I decided to do so this week. Here you go!

Warning: Spoilers ahead and strong language.

Ringer S01E01 (CW)

Ringer on CW

It’s been a few years since Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and while at times, Sarah Michelle Gellar was somewhat wooden in her delivery, she cultivated a cult following, thanks to Joss Whedon. I wasn’t expecting much when I started watching this show, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, it’s not perfect, but it’s far from being bad. The premise of the show is quite simple. A recovering drug addict meets her twin sister after 6 years. Her twin kills herself and the addict takes over her life, trying to escape a mad American Indian mobster, the FBI, and her life. However, she quickly learns that, while Siobhan’s life may seem glamorous, it’s filled with complexities and danger.

Californication And Justice For All S04E12 (Showtime)

Californication title card, via Wikipedia

How long will it take Hank to mess things up with Karen? Not very long. Hank’s usual nice disposition doesn’t win him any favorites when he tries to talk his way out of a warning. He just gets arrested.

I enjoyed the whole first series. I enjoyed the second series as well. Even though some critics were against some of the more controversial scenes, I enjoyed them. It paints an interesting picture of the life of Hank Moody and his messed up life. Hank has been a real asshole in the past, but at the end of it all he’s a good man. If you thought that the second season was going to be any less controversial, think again. This time, it’s mouth rape. The third season starts smoothly enough.

Warning: Spoilers ahead and strong language.
