What I liked In Yes Man

Jim Carrey always makes the same kind of movies. It kind of blows. Then again, he’s living with Jenny McCarthy and went out with Lauren Holly.

I liked Munchausen By Proxy, the band in which Alison played. Zooey Deschanel was actually singing, which I found cool. The rest of the band is called Von Iva, which is a real band as opposed to the fake band Munchausen By Proxy. That’s a really cool name. Strangely enough, I know something about Munchausen by proxy thanks to the readings I’ve done.

The band was pretty cool, other than that the movie was OK.

The Happening

Wow, that was a terrible movie. Terrible acting, terrible writing, terrible shooting, terrible production… Just plain bad. I’m so surprised that the guy behind Unbreakable, The Sixth Sense and Signs came up with this BS.

It could have been a great movie, M. Night Shyamalan just messed it up. 20 minutes in, some crazy guy says that it’s the plants! Yeah. John Leguizamo was terrible. Marky Mark wasn’t too far behind, but Zooey Deschanel was terrible as well. There isn’t much you can do with a stinker script.

Shyamalan should just stick with coming up with ideas for movies, and stay away from writing, directing and producing movies. That’s three stinkers in a row, if I count The Lady in the Water. The Village wasn’t so bad. i did enjoy that one.

Tin Man S01E03 (Scifi)

Zooey Deschanel, Alan Cumming, Richard Dreyfuss, Neal McDonough star in this reinterpretation of the famous Wizard of Oz. The intial airing of the mini-series got Scifi a lot of viewers. 6.3 million on the first night of the show. It dropped off during the next two episodes, but finished at 5.1 million for episode 3. The series is an epic re-imagining of L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz that gives the story a heavy science fiction/fantasy emphasis and gives only allusionary references to most of the original story.
