Today’s blog check-in. I talk about what has been going on in the last 24 hours, this blog’s stats and a few other things.
I’m always surprised how fast and efficient craigslist is. I’ve just sold 30% of what I have to sell and it went fast. The phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to buy my wares.
I got an offer for my turntables, but that will have to wait until next week. The guy just moved here from Ireland and I had trouble understanding him; my brain wasn’t noticing that he had an accent and was trying to understand him anyway without realizing the fact that he did have an Irish accent. After he told me, I had no trouble understanding him at all. I told him I knew a Irish rapper, Spiral.
I’ll do everythin’ to ya!

An Australian bloke bought my home theatre system and got my old DVD player free, because it has trouble closing. New DVD players are so cheap, 50$, and mine with its problem isn’t even worth half that. I didn’t want to store it and it made him buy the system without bargaining down.
I have met a lot of interesting people today, from the young woman who bought a lamp, to the tho guys who picked up my Ikea Benno CD/DVD case. There was also this thirty something couple who bought my dresser. I’m amazed I was able to sell this, I thought I was going to have to throw it out, but lo and behold, somebody wanted it.
I still have a lot of stuff to go. I still have to post small appliances on craigslist, like the microwave, the blender, the toaster etc.
Tomorrow, we are off to a friend’s wedding in Ottawa. At the same time, I’ll take care of my visa for Taiwan. My wife told me that if I arrive at the embassy before noon, they will issue the visa on the same day. I will be travelling with Spike, my French Bulldog, so that will be fun.
The Memoirs have between 1200 and 1600 unique visitors every day, that is up 400% from about a month and a half ago. The blog also has about 100 regular feed readers. This blog has been online since the 24th of May 2006.
Up next tonight, recaps and reviews on this week’s Brotherhood and Prison Break episode.
