For the past few weeks, well since the 13th of January 2007, Snap Live has been enabled all over WP.com. I thought about it a bit, forgot it. Thought about it some more and then started to find it annoying.
The main reason was right before clicking a link, the software just pops up a pop-up. It feels like spam. It is a sort of spam in my book. And it’s annoying as hell.
The default setting for Snap Live is on, for all of the 600K blogs on WP.
Personally, anything that makes the blog harder to read makes me grumpy.
This was the case.
And some links are supposed to be obscure. You have to click on them. Also, the preview happens when you right click on a link in order to save it or open it into a new browser tab.
It reminds of the days of all those pop-ups that appeared all over your screen. Things have changed over the years. Now, it’s harder. The pop-ups are flash or other types of apps that no longer can be so easily blocked.
The ads are all over the place.
I’m looking forward to taking it easy tonight and watching an episode of The Apprentice or CSI.
