Graem Bauer’s attempt to kill Jack and his dad fails miserably.
They set-up a tactical perimeter around Graem’s house and assault it. Graem is detained and interrogated by Jack. He learns that Graem was responsible for the deaths of David Palmer, Tony Almeida and Michelle Dressler. Jack almost looses it, but his dad helps him control himself.
Meanwhile Morris learns that his little brother is in critical condition suffering from radiation burns. Lennox pushes his agenda forward after Hayes’s resignation that he orchestrated. McCarthy has found an engineer for Fayed and is setting up the meeting so that the rest of the suitcase nukes can be armed.
It turns out that the engineer is Morris and that this was a set-up to nab him in transit to the hospital. Before CTU can act, McCarthy nabs Morris and is on his way in a Maserati Quattroporte to deliver his prize to Fayed.
The President turns down the executive order drafter by Lennox to suspend parts of the Constitution. The Vice-President makes an appearance vocally from Air Force One. It looks like they will have to move against President Palmer more directly, because he can no longer be manipulated as much as they thought he would.
Jack bought the ruse.
Well, there is a major discussion between Philip and Graem Bauer. It seems that everything is going according to plan. The whole confession and attempted execution was part of it and that Philip was the director behind everything. Philip commits infanticide and makes sure that Graem keeps his mouth shut.

Conspiracies within conspiracies. After Graem did exactly what Philip wanted, he got terminated. Too bad, CTU would have liked to interrogate him completely. At least some info was leaked, but it is all part of the grand scheme of things, set in motion partly by Philip Bauer.
They probably want to seize power and put their man in charge. This could be the Vice-President. Lennox is tied to this as well, but it seems grotesque that such acts would be commited to secure the USA. Seems more the acts of a madman.
Why else would the Bauer’s be involved?
