Lost is a United States serial drama television series that follows the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island, after a passenger jet flying between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles, United States crashes somewhere in the South Pacific. Each episode typically features a primary storyline on the island as well as a secondary storyline from another point in a character’s life. The show was created by Damon Lindelof, J. J. Abrams and Jeffrey Lieber, and is filmed primarily on location in Oahu, Hawaii. The pilot episode was first broadcast on September 22, 2004. Since then, three seasons have aired. The show is produced by ABC Studios, Bad Robot Productions and Grass Skirt Productions and airs on the ABC Network in the United States. Its incidental music is composed by Michael Giacchino. The current executive producers are Abrams, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, Jack Bender and Carlton Cuse. Because of its large ensemble cast and the cost of filming in Hawaii, the series is one of the most expensive on television.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.
As a lot of other viewers, I was hotly anticipating the new season of Lost. However, since the WGA strike, I thought that they would simply choose to cancel the season, since with only 8 episodes shot and produced, fans would be disappointed. I think that possibly ABC might choose to produce the rest of the season this year and air it. However I’ve read that Lost will last 13 episodes this season instead of the aforementioned 8. This is instead of the normal 16 episode season which was scheduled. All in all, that’s not too bad.
The fourth episode centers on Kate. The flashforwards center around Kate as well. We learn she is one of the Oceanic Six. I guess that Kate’s baby doesn’t count as part of the Oceanic Six. However, the revelation of the baby’s name will start speculation on what happened exactly on the island.
Kate puts her fate in jeopardy to find out what Miles knows about her. I found that her whole gamble wasn’t worthwhile. She did it all so that she could find out if the people on the freighter knew about her checkered past. It does however make me wonder who is looking for Ben so desperately. Who wants to get him? Minkowski?
The end of the episode also reveals that something must have happened to Sayid, Desmond and Frank Lapidus. The helicopter is MIA. It’s been gone for over a day. Maybe the time difference has something to do with this, but that’s not sure. Since we know that Sayid survived the island, that makes you wonder where they are. Maybe Frank is secretly working for their employer on some designated tasks.
