Prison Break is an American serial drama television series that premiered on the Fox Broadcasting Company on August 29, 2005. The story revolves around a man named Lincoln Burrows who was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit and his brother Michael Scofield’s elaborate plan to help him escape his death sentence.
Created by Paul Scheuring, the show is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions in association with Original Television and 20th Century Fox Television. The current executive producers are Paul Scheuring, Matt Olmstead, Kevin Hooks, Marty ,Brett Ratner.
The show is currently in its third season. The uniqueness of Prison Break is attributed to its serialized story structure, a similar format used by Lost and 24, and to its setting, as very few television series were primarily set and filmed in a prison. Its success and recognition as a prison drama revived interest in the genre following the success of Oz.
Two full seasons of the show have aired so far. However, due to the Writer’s strike, there are only 13 episodes which have currently been produced for the third season. The final 5 episodes began airing in 2008, starting Jan 14.
Linc and Mike are still out of Sona. They start out by going after Whistler. There’s something more to Whistler than meets the eye. They finally make the exchange with Gretchen. It only functions due to Mike’s thoughtfulness. LJ is safe and Sophia doesn’t know who Whistler is anymore.
Sucre is back in Sona and finds that T-Bag is running the show now. T-Bag rescued the book from Whistler during the last episode.
Mahone is off on his own path. We learn that he was plotting with Whistler and Gretchen all along. They had a little conspiracy going on. At then end of this episode, Whistler asks Mahone if he is in. Mahone replies yes, he is. Whistler is no longer pretending to be a fisherman, but he’s got poise and confidence. The clues lie in the file that Mike has in his hands.
This was a great episode. I’m still wondering what exactly is going on with Gretchen and the company. Gretchen tried to recruit Mike, who didn’t really give a shit about her proposal. She killed Sara. The end of the season didn’t seem rushed. I wonder if the show was filmed just like that. It probably was. That means that the remainder of the third season, Mike would have gone after Gretchen, Whistler and Mahone. What are those guys planning?
Warning: Spoilers ahead.
