In Treatment will last a total of 43 episodes. In Treatment is based on the Israeli series Betipul. Gabriel Byrne plays Paul Weston, a psychologist trying to deal with his patients while going through some personal problems. Each show focuses on a different patient. Mondays feature Laura, an anestheologist infatuated with Paul. Tuesdays feature Alex, an ex-fighter pilot traumatized by events that happened a few years ago. Wednesdays feature Sophie, a suicidal teenage gymnast with Olympic aspirations. Thursdays feature Jake and Amy, a couple in couple’s counseling. Fridays feature Gina, Paul’s own therapist and mentor that he stopped seeing 8 years ago for some reason.
I’ve always loved psychology. This show really feeds that need. The sessions are almost verbatim of what would happen in a real session. This show is about characters, not actions. It’s a very smart show and I am also very surprised that Marky Mark is the executive producer. Marky Mark has had success with Entourage so it makes sense that he decided to try out other projects.
This is a great show. I really liked it. I find that it’s best to watch it a few episodes at a time. I recommend this show.
In this session Amy comes alone to couples’ therapy. She’s about to sleep with Reeves and wants to talk about this. She wants to sleep with him because Jake has become too sensitive. She doesn’t respect that. She needs Jake to be like the old Jake, but that’s not how he is anymore.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.

In the last session, Jake told Amy that he didn’t want her to leave him. He was honest for the first time in a long while. Amy is waiting for Paul when he arrives. She’s a bit early. He says that he needs a few minutes before he can see her.
I can see that other things are happening in Paul’s life that are only going to come up later on Friday’s session.
Amy seems restless. She says that Jake isn’t coming. He isn’t here. They are back together. Amy says that she was offended when he told her that he needed a few minutes.
She says that they mustn’t be the easiest of patients. It’s been rough. He must have other patients that he likes better. She’s concerned about his enjoyment.
Paul says that Amy felt rejected when he asked her to wait. She says that Jake has become the sensitive and supportive husband since their sessions. She finds him sweet. She says that sweet is fattening. Jake inquired what she liked during sex, she says it was a bit of a turn-off. She doesn’t like all that tenderness. She says that they need angry sex. This touchy feely sex wasn’t the deal. The kind of sex they used to have, she couldn’t tell her girlfriends or they would call social services. Maybe he should knock her around a bit. Maybe she deserves it.
She says that she lied to Jake. She’s going on a date with Ben and they will probably have sex. Ben gave her an expensive necklace. She says that the bad sex with Jake turned her onto Ben. Ben was inevitable. She doesn’t even like Ben. She asks herself why is she doing this?
After her father died, she stopped eating. She lost 45 pounds. It was the one thing she could control. Paul’s been asking his patients to finish their thoughts a lot. Her dad died when she was 13. Her mother didn’t like her weight. She tells her a story about sibling rivalry. She got back at her sister. She settled that one in bed. She’s going to settle another one in bed soon, with Jake and Ben.
She says that her father was physically affectionate with his daughters. She can’t trust people who are tender with her. That’s why she creates these situations to get the worst out of Jake so that he treats her bad.
She wants Paul to explain to Jake. She is f*cked up. Paul asks her if that sleeping with Reeves will get the angry Jake back. Amy says that it isn’t love, it’s neediness. Paul thinks that she needs to look this a little more carefully.
She goes to the bathroom. In the bathroom, she phones Jake. She gets his voicemail. She sits on the toilet and thinks about what she was about to do.
