Dexter I Had a Dream S03E11 (Showtime)

Quebec, the new police state

Dexter stars Michael C. Hall, most known for his role as David in the HBO drama Six Feet Under. Michael C Hall plays Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter specialist working in Miami for the police.

It’s the 3rd season of Dexter. Lila is dead. Dexter is back at work. His life with Rita is going well. Dex does something stupid when he moves in to kill Freebo. He kills someone else. He wasn’t prepared to find out who it was he killed. At least no one is on Dex’s case.

Dex is able to move on, to get by his father’s death while Deb is still stuck. I thought that this was a great way to start the third season of Dexter. I recommend this show, it was filled with interesting bits.

Warning: Spoilers ahead and strong language.

Dex wasn’t really kidnapped, but it was a close one. Still, he has a lot of things on his mind. With Miguel still stirring the pot and having left Syl, Dex needs to watch him for his next opportunity. Deb and Quinn are hot on the trail of the Skinner, but he’s still loose. Maria has started suspecting Miguel and she just can’t believe that he killed Wolf.

I thought that this was a great episode. It leads into the season finale quite well. It’s funny how Miguel is turning out like a most capable serial killer ever. He’s in a position of power and he can manipulate events to his needs. His arrogance will be the death of him though.

Dexter is bound in the trunk of a car. He’s imagined this thousands of times. Harry was right. He shouldn’t have trusted Miguel. Dexter takes off his bonds. He gets ready to pounce and punches out Vince. It’s his bachelor party. Miguel arrives at the party. He was driven by Ramon.

Miguel gives a speech. It’s full of BS because he’s scheming to kill Dexter behind his back. Dexter puts on his game face. He comes home and has 45 minutes before he has to go to work. Rita shows up with bagels. They talk about him. Rita doesn’t want Miguel as Dex’s best man. Dex wants to play it by ear until after the wedding.

The next day, everyone is hung over. They review their cases.

Fuck you lip gloss!
Deb to Quinn

LaGuerta suspects that Miguel is the one who killed Wolf. The car that Toby saw matches Miguel’s. She calls him and wants to talk over what happened with Syl. Gianna brings over some Italian hangover remedies. Baptista didn’t drink much. He says that his needs are covered by her.

Dex needs to pin the Miguel kill on someone else. He needs to do it on the wedding night. Rita will be out after a glass of champagne. Deb comes in his office to hide from Anton. She thinks that Harry wouldn’t approve of Anton. She asks him about Harry. After asking a few questions, Deb learns that Harry cheated on her mom with a CI. Angel comes by. He says that Anton wants to talk to Deb and her alone.

-Deb…
-Blow me!
Dex and Deb

Anton says that the Skinner went through his pockets and took his wallet, change and keys. Vince wants to run a background on a girl he slept with. They spent most of the night talking. Dex is surveilling Miguel. He’s got a new routine that Dex needs to learn. He sees him ditch Ramon and follows.

Deb learns that Quinn’s uncle left him a building.

Motherfuck! Holy Jesus on a stick!
Deb

Deb figures out why the Skinner took Anton’s change. There is bad cell phone reception at his building. He used the change to use the phone booth.

Miguel is trying to pull a move on LaGuerta. They are having dinner. She makes up an excuse to check Miguel’s car. She checks his car for fibres. Dex sees this. He spends the night watching them. As Miguel gets into the car, he notices that his tailgate is ajar. He closes it and puts two and two together. He’s onto LaGuerta.

The next morning, LaGuerta brings in her fibres. She wants him to test them against all of the recent victims. She wants it to be kept strictly confidential and under the table.

If you need something under the table, I’m your guy. That didn’t come out right.
Dex to LaGuerta

Miguel receives notice that LaGuerta is checking up on him.

The Skinner has been using the phone booth as an office phone. A lady hired King to redo her lawn. King might be hiding there. Angel tells Vince that his girl has a rap sheet. She drove her car into someone. She’s got anger management issues. Vince is happy, that means that she isn’t out of his league.

The hair samples are a match to Wolf. Dexter isn’t sure that he’ll let LaGuerta know. Deb and Quinn arrive at King’s hideout. They see him inside. He does a runner but Quinn is after him. He gets him. King gets a knife out and knifes him in the face. Deb takes care of him and King makes a getaway.

LaGuerta found the hair analysis on Dex’s desk. She knows that there is a match to Wolf. LaGuerta is freaking out. She tells him about Miguel. He tries to stall her. She doesn’t have enough for probable cause and a judge won’t authorize a warrant.

Dex will copy King’s MO. They won’t notice another body. Deb wants to know more about the CI. He says that he’s known for a couple of weeks. Camilla told him. Deb goes to records. She wants to find out more about them.

Dex goes to Hotel Belvedere. He sees Miguel and Ramon at the hotel bar knocking back a few. He finds Miguel’s room. He gets into the room. He starts to formulate his plan. He sees that Miguel is planning to kill again. Dex knows that Miguel is about to kill LaGuerta. He sees that Miguel is aware that LaGuerta ran the search on him. That’s why he’s getting his brother drunk, so that Ramon will be his alibi.

Miguel goes to see LaGuerta in his kill clothes. She isn’t home. He hears Dex’s message. It’s for a rendez-vous point in the city. Miguel rushes out and Dex injects him. He managed to grab him. Miguel wakes up in Dex’s kill room. He tells Miguel that he killed Oscar. Dex garrottes him.

  1. I thought that this was a good season finale. It was definitely interesting how Dex got rid of the Skinner. Dex knew how to manipulate him a teeny bit, that gave him the time needed to do the deed.
