Lost is a United States serial drama television series that follows the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island, after a passenger jet flying between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles, United States crashes somewhere in the South Pacific. Each episode typically features a primary storyline on the island as well as a secondary storyline from another point in a character’s life. The show was created by Damon Lindelof, J. J. Abrams and Jeffrey Lieber, and is filmed primarily on location in Oahu, Hawaii. The pilot episode was first broadcast on September 22, 2004. Since then, three seasons have aired. The show is produced by ABC Studios, Bad Robot Productions and Grass Skirt Productions and airs on the ABC Network in the United States. Its incidental music is composed by Michael Giacchino. The current executive producers are Abrams, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, Jack Bender and Carlton Cuse. Because of its large ensemble cast and the cost of filming in Hawaii, the series is one of the most expensive on television.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.
This is Faraday’s story and how he came to be on Naomi’s crew. Faraday tells his plan to Jack and the others and meets his destiny in the camp of the Others. His mother and father are both there.
Ilana asked Frank the following question:
What lies in the shadow of the statue?
Apparently, if you know the answer to this question, you can go to the Island. This is probably one of the most important things that has occurred in recent episodes. A guy named Bram asks this question to Miles. He doesn’t know the answer either. Initially, I thought that Bram was part of an Other group, but it’s apparent now that he is working with Ilana for another group’s interest. Plus, they both didn’t know who Ben was, so they aren’t Others. They aren’t Others and they want to find what lies in the shadow of the statue. Bram is also on the Island. They brought a large crate of guns and leave the beach for parts yet unknown.
There is one hypothesis that actually makes some sense. Ilana and Bram might be working for remnants of the Dharma Initiative. The Others killed the DI on the Island and took possession of the Barracks, but that doesn’t mean that the rest of the DI off-Island has been destroyed. With the Others and Ben doing their cold war against Widmore, it probably left a power vaccuum for the DI to refocus and to regroup.
I really like this part of the story that is taking place in the 70s. So many answers are given and more questions arise. Faraday spent time off-Island with the DeGroots at Ann-Arbor.
Faraday will try to stop the Incident by any means necessary. It doesn’t end well for him.

Thirty years earlier, Faraday arrives on the Island from Ann Arbor. He wants to talk with Jack. He wants to know how he got back to the Island. He says that it was Faraday’s mother. Faraday says that his mother was wrong. They don’t belong here at all. Daniel has Miles drive him to the Orchid. Faraday waits until Chang arrives and goes down into the shaft. He overhears Chang telling a worker not to drill any deeper or the energy will be released. Faraday poses as a worker and is told by another that Chang mentioned time travel.
Faraday tells Chang that they need to evacuate the Island. A man died because of the EM activity his drilling has unleashed. In 6 hours, a catastrophic explosion will happen, 30,000 more intense than the one that killed this man. He tells Chang that he is from the future. He says that Miles is his son from the future. Faraday tells Miles that he wants to make sure that his father does what he is supposed to do.

Sawyer says that they have to leave. Faraday and Miles drop by. Faraday needs to find the Others. His mother is among them and she is the only one who can get them back where they belong.
Sawyer met his mother in ’54 when the Island was skipping through time. She is Ellie, one of the leaders of the Others. Juliet gives them the code for the fence. Kate says that she will take them. They want to get some guns.
Faraday says goodbye to a small Charlotte. He tells her that Charlotte and her mommy need to leave on the sub pretty soon, when Dr. Chang asks them to. When they get the guns, there is a shootout between the Losties and Radzinsky’s men. Dan is injured. He’s fine. They get to the fence and go into the jungle.
In about 4 hours, the Dharma Initiative at the Swan will find a pocket of energy. The result will be catastrophic. In order to contain it, they will cement it in. They will leave a Hatch. For the next 20 years, they will keep the energy at bay by pushing the button. Once Desmond fails to push the button, Flight 815 will crash. This starts this chain of events. They can’t change the past. The people are the variables. Faraday thinks that he can destroy the energy and stop the events from happening by detonating a hydrogen bomb.
Radzinsky discovers Phil in LaFleur’s closet and takes him in.
Faraday walks into the Others camp with a gun. He wants to talk with Eloise. He has a gun on Richard. Eloise shoots him. Faraday mutters to her that she knew that this was going to happen. He says that he is her son.
When Daniel was a child, his mother told him about destiny. He was playing the piano. She tells him that there is no more time for distractions. He needs to concentrate on numbers and science.
Faraday graduates from Oxford. His mother is being rude to his girlfriend/RA Theresa. Eloise says that he won’t have time for relationships in his life. He’s gotten a £1.5 million grant from Widmore. She gives him his journal and leaves.
Faraday sees something on the TV that upsets him. It’s about a flight that crashed into the ocean. Danis upset. Widmore comes to meet him. He tested something on himself. Theresa died. Widmore wants to offer him a new job. He was dismissed from Oxford. He tells him that the real Oceanic Flight 815 crashed on a special island. He says that it will heal his mind and memory if he goes there.
