Elysia Chlorotica Slug Is Part Animal Part Plant

Elysia Chlorotica in action

I was kind of amazed to read about this plant that can do its own photosynthesis. It absorbs the DNA from the algae it eats and thus is able to photosynthesize, just like plants. However, the exact mechanism of how the DNA is absorbed is still unknown.

This makes me wonder.

What is a plant? Is it enough just to produce chlorophyll and to be able to do photosynthesis? I’m not sure. {via 3QD}
