Lost Sundown S06E06 (ABC)

Lost title card

Lost is a United States serial drama television series that follows the lives of plane crash survivors on a mysterious tropical island, after a passenger jet flying between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles, United States crashes somewhere in the South Pacific. Each episode typically features a primary storyline on the island as well as a secondary storyline from another point in a character’s life. The show was created by Damon Lindelof, J. J. Abrams and Jeffrey Lieber, and is filmed primarily on location in Oahu, Hawaii. The pilot episode was first broadcast on September 22, 2004. Since then, three seasons have aired. The show is produced by ABC Studios, Bad Robot Productions and Grass Skirt Productions and airs on the ABC Network in the United States. Its incidental music is composed by Michael Giacchino. The current executive producers are Abrams, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, Jack Bender and Carlton Cuse. Because of its large ensemble cast and the cost of filming in Hawaii, the series is one of the most expensive on television.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

This is the start of the final season of Lost. It looks like the narrative is initially split up into three different timelines, but two of them rapidly merge. Ilana and her pals quickly die at the hands of Fake-Locke. It’s pretty self-explanatory that Fake-Locke is Jacob’s nemesis. There are a bunch of new Others at the Temple, including their Japanese leader.

Juliet dies, but what does that mean exactly. They buried her body, but I’m sure that we’ll see her again. So the narrative is split between what’s going on right now on the Island and what happened after the bomb was detonated. Oceanic Flight 815 never crashed. Strangely enough, there are some links between the timelines, meaning that exploding the bomb did significantly change things. Jin is also speaking English right now, which takes a while to get used to.

Sayid does indeed die and naturally comes back from the dead thanks to the Spring at the Temple. The guitar case that Jacob gave Hurley contained a giant wooden ankh. Inside, there is a message that said that if Sayid died, they’d all be in terrible danger.

I don’t know what it is, but this season is probably going to be the best of all seasons of this show. I’m really enjoying how the past is getting redacted since they are in a new timeline. There is so much going on that I’m wondering if they will be able to answer all questions.

Sayid is bringing flowers to someone. Nadia opens the door. He’s her brother-in-law. There is tension between the brothers and sexual tension between Nadia and Sayid.

Omar says that he’s in trouble from money-lenders. He wants Sayid to deal with the loan-sharks. Sayid refuses.

The next day, Omar has been hospitalized. He was beaten. They cross paths with Jack. Nadia pleads with Sayid not to do anything.

Sayid gets picked up by the loan-sharks. The loan-shark is Keamy. They all die. They didn’t know who they were dealing with. Sayid finds Jin in a fridge.

Sayid wants answers from Dogan. Dogan tells him that the machine told him how the scales tipped inside of him. In Sayid, the scales are tipped the wrong way, towards evil. Dogan attacks Sayid. They break a lot of stuff. Dogan bests him and tells him to leave and never come back.

Fake-Locke wants Claire to do something for him. He wants her to go into the Temple. False-Locke says that he will hurt the ones who won’t listen.

Sayid gets ready to leave. Miles tells Sayid that he was dead. Everyone was surprised when he came back to life, including the Others. Claire arrives. She says that he wants to see Dogan. Dogan’s right hand man tells him that Jack and Hurley have gone missing. Dogan now wants to talk with Sayid. Dogan takes out a box. He says that for years, the Monster has been trapped. Now that Jacob is gone, he wants to get away. Dogan wants Sayid to kill him. The Monster will come to him as someone he knows, someone who has died.

Sayid runs into Kate. Miles tells Kate that Claire is back.

The Monster arrives to see Sayid. There are the telltale sounds of clicking in the jungle. There’s also a new bellowing that I hadn’t heard before. False-Locke appears. Sayid stabs him, but it doesn’t do anything to him. He says that Dogan sent him on a suicide mission. He thought that False-Locke would kill him. False-Locke promises to bring back Nadia.

Sayid delivers a message. He says that the Monster is leaving. They can all leave with him, or die. It will kill anyone left at the Temple.

Kate meets Claire. She isn’t happy and she says that they all need saving. The Others are in a panic. A lot of them want to leave the Temple. Sayid wants to return the knife to Dogan.

Dogan tells Sayid that his son was injured badly in a car crash that he caused. He was drunk at the time after having been promoted. A man came to see him. If he would take a new job on the Island, his son would live but he would never see his son again. The man was Jacob. Sayid drowns Dogan in the water of the spring. My guess is that he’ll be back, another infected zombie of some sort. Dogan’s henchman arrives. Sayid cuts his throat. Before dying, he said that Dogan was the only thing keeping the Monster out.

The Monster arrives and starts killing. Lapidus and Ilana arrive and meet up with Miles. Kate jumps down in the hole with Claire to escape the Monster.

Ben finds Sayid at the spring. He tells him to come, but Sayid is going to stay. Miles tells Sun that Jin is alive. He wants to know where he has gone. Sun is surprised. Ilana is following the glyphs. She pushes one and opens a passage. The Monster bellows.

Sayid, Claire and Kate leave the Temple. They find the Alt-Others gathering with False-Locke. They all leave and exchange gloomy nods. Kate is all like “WTF is going on”.
