The Mentalist Blood Money S02E19 (CBS)

The Mentalist tells the story of Patrick Jane played by Simon Baker, a man specializing in studying the micro-expressions of people who became involved with trying to catch a serial killer named Red John. Red John killed his wife and daughter. Since then, Jane has been working with the stupidly named CBI, California Bureau of Investigations, a kind of state police.

Robin Tunney plays Agent Lisbon, who is in charge of the unit. Van Pelt is the new agent on the squad. Rigsby has a crush on her. The Mentalist is kind of like the TNT show Psych, but it’s not a comedy, it’s a drama. I’ve enjoyed this series because it’s light and interesting. I’ve kind of come to despise Criminal Minds.

Jane uses his semi-celebrity and his lack of protocol to solve cases quickly, cases in which the CBI wouldn’t be able to come up with answers without him. Each episode has the color red in its title. The Mentalist resembles the show Lie to Me, which premiered in 2009 on Fox. The Mentalist started on the 23rd of September 2008 on CBS.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Van Pelt is meeting someone in a dark alley. She wants to put a hit out on Rigsby.

36 hours earlier, ADA Callie Flower was killed. One of her most recent trials involved a drug smuggler that they had trouble pinching earlier. Van Pelt and Cho go see Mr. Draper. Jane and Lisbon question the husband. They had an argument over her hours the night she died. They meet the contractor. Jane thinks that he is a psychopath and gets his card with his print. They check them and find that he is linked to four other deaths. They don’t have enough to charge him. They set up surveillance. Rigsby says that Sylvan’s victims don’t make any sense. They think that he’s a hitman, because he receives payments before the killings.

That’s why Grace is asking Sylvan to kill Rigsby. He shows her a movie of his last hit. This is Callie’s death. They arrest him. The action shifts to the courthouse. Sylvan’s lawyer has got a mug with Jane’s prints on it. He went into Sylvan’s apartment. This breaks the chain of custody. The judge dismisses the case. Hightower puts Lisbon on suspension for 5 days while the Office of Professional Standards investigates her conduct.

Jane arranges to run into Sylvan at his favourite coffee shop. He finds sand, a button, and some fluff in his jacket pocket. They use this plus the fact that Sylvan like a certain type of gym to trace his murderhouse.

He’s getting ready to kill another dude when the agents storm the place. While they get ready to embark him in the car, Rigsby spots a laser dot from a sniper. He tells Cho do duck but it’s too late. Sylvan is dead.

Jane calls Lisbon. He’s at the Draper warehouse. It turns out that Draper’s mom isn’t senile. She’s just pretending. She stops pretending and calls in her boys. They put Lisbon and Jane in a container. They end up in Mexico. The Federales call the CBI. Jane storms in like a bumbling idiot. The judge has him arrested for contempt. This was all part of Jane’s plan to question the prosecutor. He put the hit out on Callie. Then, he shot Sylvan. They arrest him when he tries to get away. They find a rifle with a scope at his home. It was all about the Draper case. He was supposed to get this case. It would have made him DA.

Hightower is happy. Lisbon is no longer suspended. Jane still owes the court $16,000 in fines.
