Supernatural The End S05E04 (CW)

Supernatural tells the story of Sam and Dean, who are hunters. They hunt demons. This is because their mom was killed by a demon. This season, the boys discover more about their past. In the last season finale, Dean was sent straight to hell by Lilith. He had sold his soul to save Sam.

The plot of the series has evolved over time, beginning initially with the Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean, looking for their father throughout most of season one. Once they find him, the show becomes about killing Azazel, the yellow-eyed demon responsible for the death of their mother. This is accomplished, but not until after Azazel’s plans are completed and a door to Hell is opened, although only momentarily, releasing a horde of demons into the world. This event also sees the death of Sam, who is subsequently resurrected by Dean selling his soul at the end of season two. In the third season, the plot of the show focuses on trying to save Dean from his deal. Along the way, they meet a demon named Ruby, who has an interest in Sam and claims to be able to help save Dean, as well as Bela Talbot, an “acquirer” and seller of occult objects who is constantly a thorn in their side. The brothers eventually manage to track down the demon who holds Dean’s contract, a powerhouse named Lilith who also wants Sam dead. However, Sam and Ruby ultimately fail to save Dean, who is killed and sent to Hell. Season four begins with Dean, miraculously returning from Hell, awakening dazed and confused in a grave. He was apparently rescued by a supposed angel named Castiel on orders from God. Sam on the other hand, has further developed his abilities with the help of Ruby during the months that Dean has been dead. It is soon revealed that Dean was revived to help stop Lilith’s plan of breaking the 66 seals, which would let Lucifer walk free once again. As the series continues, Dean learns of Sam’s newfound ability to excercise demons using his psychic abilities. They have a heated argument, where Dean confesses to Sam: “Cas told me, if I dont stop you, he will. That means God does not want you doing what you are doing Sammy.” [From wiki]

I don’t really remember what made me stop watching this show, but a friend was extolling its virtues and I watched the fourth season premiere with her. Actually, I do remember. I really got tired of the repetitiveness of the episodes. This seems to have changed drastically since the last few seasons though. Supernatural has matured into a really good show, with its own flavor and great plots. The plot for season 4 is really good and I’m glad to see God involved.

I’ve watched and reviewed all of season 4, but I have yet to post it. If there is any interest, I will do so. There are a couple of shows which I have watched for which I haven’t posted anything yet. Those include Royal Pains and In Treatment season 2. I’m sure there are others.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

Season 5 started pretty much the same as when season 4 ended. Lilith and Ruby are dead. Sam hastened the Apocalypse and Dean couldn’t stop him. The season starter was a bit lowkey. Nothing big really happened. Oh, but then again, Lucifer is walking on Earth! It’s the End Times and Lucifer has to find a vessel. In the end of the episode he does so.

Sam has been angelically detoxed of his demon blood addiction. Things are resolved between him and Dean yet. Sam chose a demon over his brother, and Dean can’t deal with that. I thought this was a good episode. I was expecting to see Hell on Earth, but I guess that they will draw this whole thing out. It hasn’t been confirmed if this would be the last Supernatural season. There is a possibility of a sixth. My guess is that it all depends on how well this season does, which is why it was picked up for a 6th season.

Dean arrives in a town. He’s talking to Castiel on a cell phone. He is here on trying to find the Colt. He’s in Kansas City. Castiel wants to drop by immediately, but Dean needs a bit of sleep and some down time.

This isn’t funny Dean. The voice is saying that I’m out of minutes.
Castiel

During the night, Sam calls him. He tells him about being the Devil’s vessel. Sam wants back in for redemption. Dean thinks that they are better off apart. Whatever they have between them, they will always use it against them. Dean hangs up. Dean wakes up in a different place. It’s the world after the Apocalypse.

A little girl attacks him. He sees Croatoan written on a wall and a mob of demon-possessed come after him. They are taken down by some army people. Croatoan was a demon virus. Dean is in a Croatoan virus hot zone in Kansas City. He’s in the future, sometime after 2014. Zach appears in his car. There is a Croatan pandemic. Palin is president. They found him through the bible freak that Dean met outside his motel. He’s got to stay here for 3 days to see what happens if he continues to say now to Michael. Palin ordered the bombing of Houston. Dean goes to see Bobby. He finds a wheelchair with some blood and bullets on it. Dean finds a hidden journal and finds Camp Chitaqua. In the photo, Bobby is in a wheelchair. Castiel is in the picture. He goes there and gets clobbered by his future-self. He wakes up and finds himself cuffed. He tells himself that Zach threw him into the future. The Croatoan virus hit the cities two years ago. Sam died in Detroit. He wasn’t with him. They hadn’t talked in 5 years. Future-Dean goes to run some errands. Present-Dean remains cuffed. It takes him a while, but Dean manages to pick his cuffs.

Dean walks out and sees Chuck. He also gets assaulted by a woman. Dean wants to see Castiel. He’s surrounded by hotties. He’s having an orgy. Cass knows immediately that Dean isn’t from this time. Cass is stoned. Life happened to him. They see Future-Dean come back and kill a hunter. Future-Dean says that the guy was infected with Croatoan. Future-Dean’s mission was the Colt. The Colt was being moved around. Tonight, Dean plans on killing the Devil. Future-Dean knows where the Devil is. It’s the middle of a hot zone. Dean wants to know what Future-Dean has planned. He wants Dean to come because he wants him to see Sam. Sam said yes in Detroit. He’s become the Devil’s vessel. He wants Dean to see this so that he can make it different. He wants Dean to say yes to Michael. Half the planet is better than no planet. The angels aren’t listening anymore. Future-Dean wants Past-Dean to say yes to Michael. He was wrong.

Cass is on speed. He says that he went mortal. When the other angels went away, his mojo just drained away. He’s human and powerless. He’s also bitter about what happened.

They go on their mission and Past-Dean sees that Future-Dean is lying to them. This is a trap. Future-Dean says that his team is a decoy. They will go through the back. Future-Dean knocks Past-Dean out when he’s all uppity about sacrificing their friends. Past-Dean comes around just in time to see Sam-as-the-Devil kill Future-Dean. The Devil says that no matter what he tries to do or what he tries to change, they will always end up here. He leaves and Zach brings him back to 2009. Zach implores Dean to say yes to Michael before Lucifer gets to Sam and billions die. Dean says no and Cass pulls him away. Zach is pissed. Dean calls Sam. They meet up and start hunting together again.
