Chuck Versus the Living Dead S03E17 (NBC)

Chuck is an American science-fiction television program created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. The series is about an “average computer-whiz-next-door” who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend Bryce Larkin, a rogue CIA agent, which happens to embed the world’s greatest spy secrets into his brain. This is called the intersect.

From the Wikipedia entry on Chuck.

While Chuck has to deal with his new situation, he gets to enjoy the company of Sarah, working for the CIA, and Casey, working for the DOD. They use him as an asset to accomplish their missions, which surprisingly happen around town (?).

Chuck has just started its third season and it’s still entertaining. The mix between an everyday guy and espionage doesn’t get boring, since the character of Chuck actually puts us in these situations as well. I recommend it, though it’s not for everybody.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

The third season started a bit strangely. Chuck has been training for a while, but it isn’t really working out. He’s not able to control the Intersect. Does anyone else think that this is like controlling the Force? Maybe Chuck should get some training from a Jedi Master to calm his nerdy and horny mind.

This was a good episode. It’s cool that Shaw is still alive and that Chuck’s dad is working on a way to save his son now. Plus, Shaw will now be powered by a Ring Intersect.

Scott Bakula is sharpening some axes and tools. It’s a message from Ellie to her dad. He sends a message back to her saying that he misses her and that he’ll in contact soon. She immediately calls Justin.

Chuck calls Morgan about his dream about Shaw. Chuck hasn’t told Sarah yet. Morgan tells Chuck that Shaw is alive. He just fell into a river. They need to find him. Chuck lets Morgan into the Castle and he goes crazy at getting some equipment. Sarah shows up and she wants to know what’s going on. Morgan immediately spills the beans. He tells Sarah.

Chuck sees his dad at the BuyMore. Chuck didn’t tell him that he downloaded the Interface 2.0. He lies to his dad and says that he isn’t in the CIA.

Justin brings Ellie to Ring HQ. He shows her a speaker. He says that it will block all of Casey’s bugs.

Casey tells Sarah and Chuck that their best bet of finding Shaw is to use Walker. Casey interviews Sarah about Shaw and everything that they did. Chuck finds out that Shaw was a great boyfriend. He bought her some earrings from Tiffany. Chuck flashes on Shaw’s bachelor pad. He had a safe installed.

Jeff and Lester are playing outside the BuyMore. Lester splits up with Jeff because of artistic differences.

Ellie finds her dad making grill cheese sandwiches. Chuck tells Casey that he is worried about Sarah and Shaw. Ellie is totally being played by Justin, the Ring operative. She goes to see him because her dad just showed up. Casey is surveilling Ellie closely. To John, it looks like she’s having an affair.

Chuck continues to lie to his dad about his job. He tells him that he is an analyst for the CIA, a glorified desk jockey.

While Sarah and Chuck go for Shaw’s safe, they see him come in the front door. He takes a briefcase out of the safe and leaves. We didn’t see Shaw’s face. It could have been anyone. Shaw jumps across the roofs and drops the briefcase. Sarah goes after it. Chuck sees that the guy is Justin, not Shaw. He says that Shaw is dead. Chuck is about to fall to the ground. His dad saves him. They find a sort of Ring lockbox. They find his last will and testament.

His dad doesn’t want Chuck taking part of missions. Chuck’s dad discovers that Chuck downloaded the new version of the Intersect. He knew that the Intersect would cause problems to the brain. Justin has got a perfect plan to get Ellie’s dad. He shares it with her.

Casey asks Morgan if Ellie is having an affair. Morgan asks Awesome about his usual day with Ellie.

Chuck’s dad wants to leave. Ellie plants a tracer on him as he leaves. She immediately phones Justin to say that she did so. When Chuck’s dad gets back to his cabin in the woods, he takes something out of his watch and works on some kind of console. Sarah says that she knows where he lives. The perimeter alarms let him know that someone is here. He’s got a taser. They use a flash-bang grenade. Sarah arrives in her Porsche. The guys want to find the Intersect or the thing that is keeping him alive. They want the governor. My guess is that it’s not Arnold Schwarzenegger. They figure out that the governor is his watch. Chuck makes himself flash and starts kicking ass. Sarah hears the commotion and joins the fight.

Later Bartowski tells Chuck that the governor governs the Intersect. The Intersect can overheat. He’s been working on a fix. It’s kind of like a pacemaker. He says that he will make one for the Intersect 2.0.

Jeff will be huge here. Then he’ll be huge in Japan and then it’s going to be over.

Casey takes a look at Ellie’s place. Ellie lied and arrives at her place. She’s on the phone with Justin. She hears Casey and opens the stereo. There’s a gun inside. She knocks John out with a frying pan and runs away into Justin’s arms. He takes her away.

Sarah gives Chuck her spy will. Chuck makes out his own will later.

Casey wakes up.

Justin makes a call to Shaw. Shaw is still alive. He powers up another Intersect. He downloads it into himself.
