There is so much about this show that is really interesting. First of all, the main characters all work in a think tank. I find that an interesting line of work. They are basically paid to think about certain problems. It all looks collegiate, but there is more than meets the eye, as the protagonist discovers.
Warning: spoilers ahead.
I really enjoyed this pilot. It looks like this is going to be a great series. I give it an overall grade of A. There are many mysteries in this pilot that I hope the show will develop.

A woman is playing hide or seek with a bunch of kids. There is a house nearby. An older man is sitting in a steam room. Later, he eats breakfast. He finds a four-leaf clover in his paper. It looks fresh. He looks outside the window and sees the woman playing with the children. The man has got a photo of the woman on his desk. He takes a gun and shoots himself.

His name is Will. Another girl is in his office. It’s April 8th, his birthday. Her name is Maggie.
A few people arrive in a conference room. The 1st girl forgot to get donuts. One of the men isn’t pleased. Her name is Tanya. She’s the newest member. This is a think tank. I love it. These guys are paid to think all day. Maggie comes by to get Will for lunch. Will wants a rain check. She says that she’s not giving up. While looking at the crossword puzzles, Will spots something strange. He does some research and comes with something. He goes to see David, his boss. David doesn’t think it’s relevant. That’s what he tells Will. Once Will leaves, he starts getting serious about the information he turned up.
David goes to see his boss. He passes it off as his own discovery. He says that no one else knows about this.
Tanya asks why Will is so mopey. His buddy tells Tanya that his wife and child died during 911. David gives Will a birthday present. Will wants to be alone tonight. He misses his wife and child too much. David gave him a key and a message. It said that he should drive away and not look back. It’s time. In front of his apartment, he finds a motorcycle. He calls Dave. Dave is cryptic. He says that he will see him in the morning.
The next morning, Dave is killed during his morning train ride to work. Will is watching TV in a bar. He sees a report of the man from the beginning of the show who killed himself. He was a self-made millionaire.
It’s David’s funeral. David was Will’s father-in-law. David’s boss wants to talk with Will. Will has been promoted to David’s position. Will is considering leaving. He wants Will to take a couple of days. If his mind doesn’t change, he will accept his resignation.
Will is in David’s office. The phone rings. A man says knight to king’s bishop 3. He wants to talk with David. He finds a chess board hidden inside a globe. It has an inscription that says “From one pawn to another. E.B.”. This means something to Will. The boss is watching him leave.
Will goes to see Ed Bancroft. He was the one who called him. Ed is an elderly gentleman. He informs him of David’s death. The old man slumps against the door. Ed used to work in the building. He shows Ed the crossword puzzles. Will says that this showed up the day before David died. Will doesn’t think that it is a coincidence. Ed asks Will to leave.
While waiting for the train, he sees someone watching him. He goes back to a car. It’s David’s. He pocketed the keys earlier in his office. The car is parked in spot #13. David was extremely suspicious. He wouldn’t park in the 13th parking. He goes to see Maggie in the middle of the night. He wakes up Maggie’s daughter. He leaves.
The next day, Will plans on giving his resignation. Maggie can’t believe it. If he does so, Grant will be promoted. Miles doesn’t want him to leave either. Will ponders this before going to see the boss. The boss wants to introduce him upstairs. He takes him to a nondescript elevator. He arrives in a strange hallway. There is a man there. Spangler wants to meet him tomorrow morning at 9AM. Will gets a higher security clearance.
