Following the success of Burn Notice, USA is trying another espionage-based series. While I didn’t expect much, I was pleasantly surprised by this show. Granted, Piper Perabo helps, and while she doesn’t look like a 20-year old anymore, she looks young enough to fit the bill for the title character. I find it surprising that a young CIA trainee would be put directly into the field. Also, it’s my understanding that on domestic issues, the FBI runs the show, not the CIA. The CIA has the operational directive of anything out of the US. I am unsure that it’s legal for the CIA to run a domestic operation, but I could be wrong.

Annie is playing football at Georgetown. She’s trying to get to a girl named Julia. She’s nurturing a source. She’s helped the official to skim $100 million off for their own purposes. She works in a bank.
In Caracas, some dude named Lopez gets killed by government boys. The guy in charge of the kill gives Lopez’ medallion to his mistress.
Auggie was watching Diego after the meet. He didn’t contact anyone. Joan says that Annie is going to Caracas to hand Diego over to agents. Lopez is the CIA station agent. He was killed but the Firm doesn’t know about this. Diego calls the Smithsonian cover and they set up the meet.
Annie arrives in Caracas, but Lopez isn’t there. Lopez is MIA. Annie might have to run things on her own. She meets the sister, who immediately dislikes her. Annie makes her play and Julia doesn’t bite, yet. Julia decides to go ahead. They need to get Victor’s FOB. It’s a coded device with a password that changes every minute.
Annie meets with Victor. He wants to go with her to see the letter. Rodriguez, one of the CIA ops, sees that Julia is wearing Lopez’ medallion. The CIA finds out that Lopez is dead. Annie asks Julia if she compromised her. She says she didn’t. Victor is driving a Ferrari 360 Modena. Victor made her. His men searched her car and deduced that she was an agent. He pulls a gun on her. Annie smartly disarms him and leaves him on the road.
She talks with Auggie. She goes to the bank. She meets up with Julia and Diego. It doesn’t take Victor long to follow them and arrive. The tag has been placed on the account. Annie has to drag Julia out. The accounts have been traced to known terrorist organizations, including the FARC and Hezbollah. They make it out.
Annie has a suspicion about Julia. She was using some of Victor’s money to fund the education of some neighbourhood kids. Julia stole cell phones to communicate with Victor, who’s arrived in the city. Julia goes to meet with him.
Julia meets with Victor. Hughes drops off the agent. Diego goes after her. It was a mistake for them to take him. Victor tries to have Julia killed by his man. Hughes saves her with a shot. Hughes takes out Victor. Julia needs a good slap. Victor tried to have her killed. What a bitch.
