Supernatural Season 6 title card

Supernatural tells the story of Sam and Dean, who are hunters. They hunt demons. This is because their mom was killed by a demon. This season, the boys discover more about their past. In the last season finale, Dean was sent straight to hell by Lilith. He had sold his soul to save Sam.

The plot of the series has evolved over time, beginning initially with the Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean, looking for their father throughout most of season one. Once they find him, the show becomes about killing Azazel, the yellow-eyed demon responsible for the death of their mother. This is accomplished, but not until after Azazel’s plans are completed and a door to Hell is opened, although only momentarily, releasing a horde of demons into the world. This event also sees the death of Sam, who is subsequently resurrected by Dean selling his soul at the end of season two. In the third season, the plot of the show focuses on trying to save Dean from his deal. Along the way, they meet a demon named Ruby, who has an interest in Sam and claims to be able to help save Dean, as well as Bela Talbot, an “acquirer” and seller of occult objects who is constantly a thorn in their side. The brothers eventually manage to track down the demon who holds Dean’s contract, a powerhouse named Lilith who also wants Sam dead. However, Sam and Ruby ultimately fail to save Dean, who is killed and sent to Hell. Season four begins with Dean, miraculously returning from Hell, awakening dazed and confused in a grave. He was apparently rescued by a supposed angel named Castiel on orders from God. Sam on the other hand, has further developed his abilities with the help of Ruby during the months that Dean has been dead. It is soon revealed that Dean was revived to help stop Lilith’s plan of breaking the 66 seals, which would let Lucifer walk free once again. As the series continues, Dean learns of Sam’s newfound ability to excercise demons using his psychic abilities. They have a heated argument, where Dean confesses to Sam: “Cas told me, if I dont stop you, he will. That means God does not want you doing what you are doing Sammy.” [From wiki]

I don’t really remember what made me stop watching this show, but a friend was extolling its virtues and I watched the fourth season premiere with her. Actually, I do remember. I really got tired of the repetitiveness of the episodes. This seems to have changed drastically since the last few seasons though. Supernatural has matured into a really good show, with its own flavor and great plots. The plot for season 4 is really good and I’m glad to see God involved.

I’ve watched and reviewed all of season 4, but I have yet to post it. If there is any interest, I will do so. There are a couple of shows which I have watched for which I haven’t posted anything yet. Those include Royal Pains and In Treatment season 2. I’m sure there are others.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

Nice episode where the boys poke fun at Twilight. Also, we see Sam’s dark side appear. He purposely lets Dean get infected by vampire blood so that they can get into the vampire nest to find out more about the alpha vampire they’ve been hunting. The only problem is that Sam didn’t tell anyone about this and he put Dean’s life in jeopardy, and probably ruined what Dean had with Lisa and Ben.

Some teenager is meeting up with some guy in a club. Looks like a goth club, or something like that. Looks actually pretty fun, and the music isn’t bad either. This episode is about vampires. The previews told us that much. The girl meets with a vampire and he leaves when she cuts her finger and draws blood. It’s a Twilight parody! The girl is Bella and the moody vamp is Ed. I hope they both get slain. I’m pretty sure that they are paraphrasing the books. Even the music is from the movie. He shows her his fangs. She wants him to drink from her. They bring her to a place and eat her.

Dean phones Lisa. He says that he’s only a night away. Once he wraps things up, he’ll come see her. She’s happy. Lisa is anchoring Dean in humanity, it’s something that Sam doesn’t have. There have been 7 girls in their late teens that have disappeared in Calvin. The latest girl was obsessed with vampires. Some guy pretending to be a vamp wanted to meet her at a club named The Black Rose.

This is the 4th town in which kids go missing and then a blood bank truck gets jacked. It establishes a pattern. At the club, they find two likely suspects and trail them. Sam slays a vamp while Dean follows just a kid. Then, Dean gets assaulted by a vamp who tells him that he’s pretty. For some reason, Sam lets Dean get infected by vampire blood. He did this on purpose. Also, he lets the vamp get away.

Back at the motel room, Dean is making plans on how to die. Sam isn’t freaking out. His heartbeat is steady. Sam thinks that Samuel will know what to do. Dean’s fangs are starting to grow. He’s also dealing with enhanced senses, and it’s slowly driving him insane. He escapes and goes to see Lisa. He says goodbye and leaves.

Dean comes back just as Samuel arrives. He hasn’t fed yet. Samuel says that he’s here to save Dean, not kill him. He shows him his grandfather’s journal. There is a cure inside. They need the blood of the vamp who infected him. Dean heads on out alone.

Samuel asks what was wrong with Sam. Sam knew about the cure and he was using Dean to find the alpha vamp they’ve been looking for. That’s exactly what he did. You can’t pull the wool over Samuel’s eyes that easy. If Dean finds out, they’ll split up again. Sam’s become twisted and evil. The cage turned him into something else.

Dean arrives at the nest. They are running some kind of operation. Boris is six centuries old and he says that this is the best time to be a vamp. He’s grooming the newly turned vamps to hunt for him. He says that this is all for his father and points at the sky. He’s a total nutter. When Dean goes after Boris, something happens. All of the vamps suddenly collapse. Dean closely follows. It’s like they are receiving a transmission from the alpha vamp.

When they wake up, Boris sends all of the vamps after Dean. Dean starts slaying. Sam and Samuel arrive. The vamp tells Dean that he didn’t stop anything. That it was bigger than everything. Dean slays him. They make the cure and Dean drinks it. Sam wanted to find out what he saw in the nest before Dean drinks, but Dean is too thirsty.

In his vision, Dean sees that Sam let him be infected on purpose. He was just standing there. The next day, Dean says that the alpha is making an army.

Dean calls Lisa but gets her voicemail. After he left her, he pushed Ben hard against the wall when he was trying to get close to Dean.
