The Mentalist Red Hot S03E07 (CBS)

The Mentalist tells the story of Patrick Jane played by Simon Baker, a man specializing in studying the micro-expressions of people who became involved with trying to catch a serial killer named Red John. Red John killed his wife and daughter. Since then, Jane has been working with the stupidly named CBI, California Bureau of Investigations, a kind of state police.

Robin Tunney plays Agent Lisbon, who is in charge of the unit. Van Pelt is the new agent on the squad. Rigsby has a crush on her. The Mentalist is kind of like the TNT show Psych, but it’s not a comedy, it’s a drama. I’ve enjoyed this series because it’s light and interesting. I’ve kind of come to despise Criminal Minds.

Jane uses his semi-celebrity and his lack of protocol to solve cases quickly, cases in which the CBI wouldn’t be able to come up with answers without him. Each episode has the color red in its title. The Mentalist resembles the show Lie to Me, which premiered in 2009 on Fox. The Mentalist started on the 23rd of September 2008 on CBS.

Jane and Lisbon are dispatched to a helicopter company. Lisbon was called by the director at 4:30AM to be here in person. Bajoran received a death threat. Mashburn called them in. He is about to buy Bajoran’s company. While they are there, Bajoran gets blown up with his head of security. Mashburn is the prime suspect. Mashburn and Bajoran hated each other. They were corporate competitors. Yuri’s wife was Mashburn’s fiancé before.

At the Bajoran estate, Cho and Jane question the widow. Jane snoops around. Yuri wore rugs. The widow mentions some mogul that tricked Yuri with the help of Shankar. Shankar claimed that Yuri cheated him of a few million bucks.

You do not mess with super rich people. They’re like kids with machine guns.
Lisbon

Shankar is currently at an exclusive country club glamping, glamorous camping. Mashburn arrives to help them out. They get shot at by some unknown assailant.

Later, Mashburn reveals that Shankar was under the impression that he would receive shares from Yuri’s company. He also hated

Jane borrows Mashburn’s credit card. Mashburn is unsure if it has a limit. Jane goes to an auction and pays $260K for an item. He calls Mashburn so that he puts on a shindig for tonight. Jane bought a fragment from the Porsche Spider in which James Dean died. Shankar is about to leave the country on his yacht. Van Pelt says that Elsa Striven is another suspect. She’s a German supermodel. She found this out in the tabloids.

Shankar arrives. He also lets everyone know that Lisbon is Mashburn’s girlfriend. Elsa arrives with a knife and tries to stab Mashburn.

During the interrogation, Elsa is very hostile. Jane divines that Elsa keeps meticulous records on the way that she protects Mashburn. He finds out that she’s got everything on her cell phone. They find Mashburn having drinks with Drucker, Yuri’s head of security. He was being paid off by Mashburn.

They question Denise again, the widow. Lisbon goes to question Mashburn, and Jane hatches a plan. Mashburn does a runner. This is all part of Jane’s ruse.

Yuri is waiting for Mashburn in his plane hangar. Jane made Mashburn run to lure Yuri out.

Jane found out that Yuri was still alive because of his missing toupees. They arrest Denise. She was also involved. She tried to flee the country.

Lisbon sleeps with Mashburn.
