Stargate Universe Resurgence S02E10 (Syfy)

I’ve never been a Stargate fan. I’ve tried watching SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, but never really found them compelling enough. I actually like the original movie with Kurt Russell, but the series never really interested me that much. One of my friends recently bought all of the seasons cheaply. I thought about watching them, but ran out of time. Scalzi is a creative consultant on this series and it looks pretty interesting, so I’ve decided to give it a go.

Now, before any bitching and hating starts― too late, it’s already started, I haven’t bothered to read, review, or watch any of the Stargate series, and I’m not going to. I’ve watched a couple of episodes and didn’t continue. I tried Stargate Atlantis, but didn’t like it. My friend told me that starting season 4, SG-1 was really good. I can’t really comment on that as I stopped watching the series after a few episodes.

Basically, I’m a new viewer of Stargate, but I’m not a science-fiction novice. It puts me in an interesting spot about reviewing this show. My point of view is from someone who hasn’t watched any of the SG shows, so this review and recap should be interesting to those of you who haven’t watched SG before. For the others, leave some comments and start a discussion.

Is the show good or bad? Read on to find out more.

Rush is looking for Eli. He’s not on the bridge. Volker and Park keep messing up. Brody finds something interesting. It’s about a day away by FTL. It’s a strange energy signature. Young gives his approval to diver the Destiny. Chloe has to set the new course. They find a graveyard of ships. Rush wants to send an away team.

Chloe shows Scott that the infection is spreading faster now. It’s up to her chest. Wray has a chat with Eli. Eli is moody because people died.

Brody is taking Scott and Greer for a salvage run. It looks like a ship was just lying in wait to find scavengers. The away team gets ready to board a derelict ship. The space suits look cool.

Eli has Destiny run a simulation of the battlefield. He realizes that some ships are just lying in wait for them. They order the away team back. The enemy ships power up. They start firing on The Destiny. The shuttle docks and they try to get away. The FTL engines are offline. Another ship drops out of FTL. It’s another seed ship. It’s Telford in another seed ship. They both fly through the star’s corona. The enemy ship can’t handle the heat and are mostly destroyed.

Telford tells his story. He was surrounded by desperate aliens, who were curious. They plugged him into one of their pods, which has a neural interface. Telford assimilated their history and learned about them. They are called the Ursini. He’s been chasing them down for almost a month. Telford says that the Ursini need their help. The enemy ships are attack drones. The Ursini did the same as the humans and boarded a seed ship to escape.

The Ursini want their help to destroy the command ship of the drones. Young decides to give it a go. The other seed ship will help The Destiny jump to the command ship. They get into FTL but quickly are out of FTL. They were tricked by the Ursini. In exchange for this, the Ursini will fix the FTL and help the humans dial Earth.

For some reason, Eli wants to take Chloe to the bridge. She says that she can help. She escapes. Scott finds her but she’s done something. The Destiny is surrounded.
