The Walking Dead Wildfire S01E05 (AMC)

The Walking Dead intertitle, via Wikipedia

The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse; it follows a small group of survivors traveling across the desolate USA in search of a new home away from the shuffling hordes of the undead. The group is led by Rick Grimes, who was a police officer in the old world. As their situation grows more and more grim, the group’s desperation to survive pushes them to the brink of humanity. At every turn they are faced with unspeakable horrors, both from those who are dead, and from the scattered remains of a struggling human populace.

I don’t know what it is with the series on AMC, but they definitely have interesting ideas. This show is based upon a comic books, and I enjoyed watching the show. It reminds me of a lot of zombie movies, so it’s not revolutionary, but I did have fun.

Warning: spoilers ahead

Some reviewers are raving about the show. While the show is interesting, it’s by no means something new. However, it’s good that it’s based upon characters, which is a definite plus. I’ll be watching this show.

* * * * *

Rick is talking to Morgan on the radio. He says that Atlanta has been overrun by the dead.

Back at camp, they are burning the dead. It turns out that Jim has been bit. They turn on him. He was bit. They have to kill him. For some reason, they talk about what to do. That’s stupid. They should just get rid of them.

Big sister shoots little sister in the head when she is reanimated. They also start burying the bodies instead of just burning them.

Shane thinks about shooting Rick to take Lori, but he doesn’t. Dale sees him hesitate. The next day, some of the people decide to split off from the camp. Rick wants to bring Jim to the CDC. What is going on in his mind? He’s an idiot.

They move out. A few hours into the drive, they have to dump Jim. He’s about to turn.

We see some VT of some scientist at the CDC. It’s his daily log. He’s living underground and working on the virus. He almost gets infected due to the lack of sleep. He’s at Wildfire. Due to his ineptitude, his research is completed destroyed in decontamination. The most recent samples of the dead are gone. He says that he’s about to shoot his brain, but tonight he’ll get drunk when Rick and his crew arrive. He opens the doors for them after a few moments, hardly believing that there are still people left alive.
