Fresh on the heels of the boring Twilight craze, and the well-deserved True Blood phase, CW is offering up its latest in teen dramas. Apparently, this show drew 5 million viewers its first night. That’s probably due to Twilight-hype. I can’t stand Twilight. It sucks ass. I couldn’t read the books, but read a review from Dan Bergstein on those Stephanie Meyer books. It was very entertaining. The movie kind of sucked as well.

This is the situation, as I’ve divined it using my psychic powers. The Fox network saw that Twilight was really working well. Wow, maybe vamps are cool again, said one exec. Another said, maybe not, remember Forever Knight. Then, everyone went bonkers for True Blood. The same exec said it confirmed his theory that vamps are back in, notably teen vamps, not crazy sex-addicted vamps. One exec mentioned Teen Wolf, the other slapped him on the back of the head.

So, we need to find a teen vampire series. Wait, my daughter used to read some vampire thingie called The Vampire Diaries in the 90s. Let’s pressure L. J. Smith to write some sequels as an added incentive. That will make it cool!

John and Elena are talking. It’s not Elena, it’s Katherine. She cuts off John’s ring and stabs him. Real Elena arrives. Katherine is still in the house and plays with Elena. Elena runs up to see Jeremy. It looks like he was turned. Well, he wasn’t. Stefan arrives. If he dies now, he will be turned.

Bonnie arrives at the hospital. Caroline is in bad shape. The Sheriff tells Damon that Mayor Lockwood is dead. They thought he was a vampire.

Damon tells Bonnie and Caroline that he can give Caroline some blood so that she can heal.

Damon realizes that he kissed Katherine not Elena. The three of them go back to the house and realize that Katherine has been playing with them.

The next day, Caroline recovers.

Damon and Liz talk with the Mayor’s wife. Ty’s uncle Mason comes home. My guess is that the Lockwoods are closet werewolves.

Elena and Stefan go to see John. They want to know about Katherine. They give him back his ring. John doesn’t cooperate, so Stefan feeds him some vampire blood. If he dies, he’ll turn. He’s got 24 hours to leave town.

Katherine goes to the mayor’s wake. Bonnie tells Damon that the Gilbert Device affected Tyler and the mayor. Bonnie hurts him a bit, then goes to see Elena. She realizes that Elena is Katherine. She checks with Elena, who’s on her way. Katherine corners her. Bonnie uses her mojo on Katherine, it doesn’t work. Stefan comes to Bonnie’s aid. He tells Katherine to leave her alone. She does so.

Elena, Jenna, and Jeremy arrive. Stefan goes out on the grounds with Katherine. He threatens her after she plays with him a bit. Stefan hates him. She stabs him and leaves. Elena finds him.

John is packing up his stuff. He is talking with Jeremy.

Katherine comes to say goodbye to Damon and they slightly hook up. Katherine says that she never loved him. She always loved Stefan and then she leaves.

Damon comes to see Elena. He forces herself on her. Jeremy interrupts. Damon snaps his neck so that he becomes a vampire. Elena sees that he’s wearing his father’s ring. Stefan arrives later and Jeremy comes back to life.

Mason tells Tyler that it’s the Lockwood curse, that’s why he feels this way.

Katherine goes to see Caroline. She kills her so that she turns into a vampire.
