The pilot episode of White Collar was most definitely slick and smart, as well as charming, as Matt Bormer will charm the pants off anyone he meets as his suave alter ego Neal Caffrey.

This show most definitely fits in the USA Network’s slew of shows, which include Burn Notice and Royal Pains. It has good pacing and interesting chemistry between Matt Bormer and Tim DeKay, something that isn’t easy to fake. They work well on the screen, there is no denying this.

Basically, Dekay’s Burke is a white collar specialist who put Bormer’s Caffrey away a few years ago. In order to reduce his sentence a bit further, after having escaped a super max jail, Caffrey offers to help Burke to catch the illusive Dutchman, a criminal that Burke has also been chasing for a few years. This setup kind of reminds me of Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can as well as The Sting with Redford and Newman.

What’s also interesting, is that the guys don’t just keep this professional. They also involve their personal lives. Burke needs help to make his hot wife Elizabeth, played by Tiffani Thiessen, happy while Caffrey is searching for his wife that just vanished. All in all, a great show with good actors. I recommend it.

Peter can’t find any trace of Adler. He pulled a billion-dollar Ponzi scheme and disappeared. He goes to see Neal. Peter found out that Neal knew Adler. Neal doesn’t want to talk about it because it involves crimes that Peter doesn’t know about. Peter offers him full immunity until the night is up.

Neal has to start with the beginning, eight years ago. It’s when Neal met Moz the first time. Moz proposes a long con on Vincent Adler. The bonds that Neal forged came upon Burke’s desk. They had to cash some more of his bonds, which got Neal noticed by the feds. It was a calculated risk, but it was to get the money to go to Adler’s benefit. The con would last 5 months. They want to get Adler’s password and username to hijack his next deposit in a Cayman Islands bank account. Adler’s assistant was Kate Moreau. She tells him that he’ll need to be seated closer to her boss in order to get a chance. He got in pointing out what Singer was going to do. Neal got hired a week later. At that time, Kate still had a boyfriend. She was planning on moving to Chicago. Adler was obsessed with fractals. Neal was trying to find out who was looking into Adler’s art. It’s Alex Hunter. Neal invested his money into Adler’s fund, which was a Ponzi scheme.

That’s what started his relationship with Alex. Even back then, she was looking for the music box. Things changed and Neal started seeing Kate.

Adler finally gave him the password to the account but Neal couldn’t go through it because of Kate. They see news footage of Adler leaving with a billion dollars in his clients’ money. The password was an anagram for ‘Nice try Neal’. He told Kate who he was after they had lost it all.

They started working cons. He got a message from Alex. The box was in Copenhagen. He tried to con Kate to go there, but she knew all about Alex. Neal went alone and it didn’t pan out; it was a three-person job and Kate had stayed behind. Alex ended up in a French hospital and Neal barely got back. When he did, he found that Kate had vanished. Kate was staying no longer than a week in each place. She was hiding from Neal. The feds know where she is and leaked the info out on the street. It reaches Neal through Moz. He finds her. That’s when the feds nabbed both of them. They only arrest Neal. Alex said that the fractal is a fractal antenna that corresponded to an emergency beacon to a boat or ship that disappeared in the 1940s.
