I’ve been a Nathan Fillion fan for quite a while. Ever since Firefly, I was really impressed by his acting. Since he is starring in a new series named Castle, I took it upon myself to watch it weekly.

Anyway, what do I like about Castle? Well it stars an obnoxious, womanizing novelist. Detective Kate Beckett is a closet hottie, played by Stana Katic. Her hotness is kind of hard to explain. The actress is quite hot, but in Castle, she toned it down. She doesn’t wear much makeup and favors a natural look, kind of like “Oh I’m hot, but I could be the girl next door, BTW, FYI, I’m still smoking hot.” That’s how I described her in my mind. She’s kind of got the ex-catwalk model look going for her, which is quite good.

So that’s a good point. Plus she’s Canadian and a good actress. That’s always a good combination.

Warning: spoilers ahead

The show centers around a novelist who is brought in to help deal with a string of murders which seem to be taken from the pages of his novels. At the same time, Castle has hit massive writer’s block after killing off the hero of his mystery book franchise, Derek Storm. Through Beckett, he is able to write once again.

Halfway between a drama and a romantic comedy, Castle is a fun show to watch. The characters play around a lot, making the viewer wonder when or if they will ever get together. It didn’t take Castle long to find out what makes Beckett tick. He uses clues and his imagination deftly.

ABC has started to release chapters of Richard Castle’s new book Heat Wave on its website. They are up to chapter 8 and I haven’t started yet, but it’s a pretty cool tie-in to the show.

Castle thinks that the terrorists kept Jamal’s body so that they could use it in the bomb. It would put the blame on him and get them scot-free. Castle and Beckett have a few hours at the most. They start trying to open the door.

Alexis and Martha are back in town. They find that the LCD projector is out.

Fallon tries to find the target. Alexis called Ryan. Both Castle and Beckett are missing. Ryan and Esposito think it’s suspicious, but the captain doesn’t give them the go-ahead to start looking for them.

Castle and Beckett fall asleep. They wake up in ambulances. Josh is there. Ryan and Esposito found them. Fallon lets them back on the taskforce. The bomb is set to blow at 4PM. Castle comes home and tells Martha and Alexis to go to the Hamptons without asking any questions.

Castle wonders how this must be for Fallon doing this every day. Kevin McKaan was in the military. He did six tours. The real McKaan died years ago. Someone stole his ID.

They go see McKaan sister. She IDs the guy as Radford Hayes. He was in her brother’s unit. They get his cell phone number. They catch him but he isn’t talking. Fallon and Beckett question him. Esposito says that they are wasting their time. Radford is Special Forces. They are trained to resist questioning of this kind, probably even worse. He can hold off long enough. Fallon almost pulls a Jack Bauer and Beckett pulls a gun on him. Ryan tells Beckett and Castle that Fallon’s wife died in the second tower in 911.

Castle thinks that Hayes’ people will try to find a new patsy. Castle and Beckett look in to see Amir’s wife. They find Fallon’s surveillance guy dead, shot in the head at Amir’s place. The wife is gone with the kid. They find a note there, taking credit for the bombing. She’s the new patsy.

Castle gives Fallon Yusef’s card. It might be another way of finding the bomb or anyone involved. Two of the men in Hayes’ unit are in the country.

Yusef comes to the NYPD. They’ve had Amir’s family under surveillance. He tells them where she is. They storm the place and find the soldiers, but Nazia is already gone with the van and the bomb.

The target is Times Square. Fallon made the soldiers talk by telling them that Radford spilled the beans and talked.

Castle and Beckett find her. They have the bomb. There is 1:50 left. There isn’t enough time to get the bomb squad. Fallon doesn’t know what to do, he can’t see anything. They hold hands and Castle pulls out a bunch of wires. It stops the bomb.
