The Mentalist Like a Redheaded Stepchild S03E21 (CBS)

The Mentalist tells the story of Patrick Jane played by Simon Baker, a man specializing in studying the micro-expressions of people who became involved with trying to catch a serial killer named Red John. Red John killed his wife and daughter. Since then, Jane has been working with the stupidly named CBI, California Bureau of Investigations, a kind of state police.

Robin Tunney plays Agent Lisbon, who is in charge of the unit. Van Pelt is the new agent on the squad. Rigsby has a crush on her. The Mentalist is kind of like the TNT show Psych, but it’s not a comedy, it’s a drama. I’ve enjoyed this series because it’s light and interesting. I’ve kind of come to despise Criminal Minds.

Jane uses his semi-celebrity and his lack of protocol to solve cases quickly, cases in which the CBI wouldn’t be able to come up with answers without him. Each episode has the color red in its title. The Mentalist resembles the show Lie to Me, which premiered in 2009 on Fox. The Mentalist started on the 23rd of September 2008 on CBS.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

The DB is Walton Parcell. He was stabbed multiple times. He bought some jewellery last night. He was a prison guard. It looks like was shanked to death. Grace gives Rigsby and Cho some wedding invitations. I think Rigsby will get shot. Rigsby visits his dad, who’s a felon.

They talk with the girlfriend Shelly. Walton was going to night school, studying criminology to become a detective. Cho and Van Pelt talk with the guards. Walton was trying to transfer one of the inmates to a supermax. He had help from one of his professors. Jane questions the class. The inmate is from Fontana, named Marcus, and part of the Aryan Nation. Marcus Landsdale. He’s suspected of running the prison protection racket.

Rigsby tells Lisbon about his dad. She already knew, but tells him to take someone with him next time.

Landsdale is Shelly’s brother. Marcus asked Shelly to get close to Walton to find out his weaknesses. She fell for him. She doesn’t make a statement. She’s got an alibi.

They need a new angle, so Rigsby goes to see his dad again. He says that they need to find some woman named Rocket. Some guy named Butch flashed some cash yesterday for killing a prison guard. They catch him. He was cooking some meth.

Jane is back at the prison. He likes watching the inmates. It’s like a primal zoo. Jane wants to talk with some trustees. Jane thinks that the killer came from prison. The prison washes the laundry for all hotels. Jane is playing a dangerous game. He’s implying that a prison trustee named Nick, a thief, is snitching on Landsdale. He isn’t, but Landsdale learns of this. It looks like Nick snitched about a drug bust that Jane orchestrated from watching the tapes. Landsdale orders a hit on him. They catch Landsdale in the act, but Nick has gone missing. It’s enough to send Landsdale to a supermax. Jane and Lisbon are waiting for a laundry truck. Nick is on it. He killed Walton.

Rigsby’s dad used his son to get rid of the competition. Butch didn’t kill anyone. Rigsby burns his dad’s stash. They fight.

Nick robbed a place by sneaking outside. Walton saw him and chased after him. Nick killed him. Nick was caught because of his manicure. There’s no manicurist in prison. He snuck out and got a manicure. What a douche.

Rigsby tells Van Pelt that he’s not coming to her wedding. He still loves her and can’t see her marry another man.
