Following the framework of previously established dramadies on Showtime, Nurse Jackie aims to show the life of a RN working at a busy hospital who pops pills and leads a double life.

Nurse Jackie has already created some controversy because of its content. The show is for mature audiences and tells a story about a hard working nurse, dedicated to her job, but with a habit.

This show is a lot better than Hawthorne. I wasn’t immediately hooked, but the situations that Jackie gets herself into are amusing. She’s cheating on her devoted husband with her pharmacist, who supplies her with pills. She deals out her own kind of justice in order to make things right in her own eyes.

Nurse Jackie is entertaining and between all of the new medical dramas, Hawthorne, Mercy, etc., it’s definitely the best.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

Gloria shows off her new townhouse. It’s got quite a few floors.

Eddie tells Kelly that only 30 out 40 fentanyl patches arrived at Oncology. He handed them over to Jackie to do so. Kelly goes to HR. He doesn’t tell them who he handed them off to. He’s in CYA mode.

Now Coop wants to marry some girl.

Kelly is pissed at Jackie. He sees that she’s a druggie. She’s on over the counter dope now. She’s in withdrawal. She’s got Sam and Thor running antihistamines for her.

A son and father team come to the ER. They beat themselves up. He’s on parole and he was mean to Jackie. He also broke his daughter-in-law’s nose sometime in the past. Jackie doesn’t like him at all and sticks him with an epi. He’s a bully.

Jackie’s been clean for 37 hours. She tells Eddie that she’s been clean for a week. She says that she misses the rush. Later, she’s walking in the middle of the road.
