New Airships to Hit Canada: A Bit of Fringe Up North

I’ve always enjoyed airships. They’ve been featured prominently in Fringe, in the other universe. It’s a shame that there aren’t more around, but that might not be for long. Hybrid Air Vehicles will be making some futuristic giant blimps to supply remote communities in the Northern parts of Canada.

iZON Room Monitor: Use Your iPhone as a Remote Spy Cam

The iZON Remote Room Monitor isn’t the first way to watch what’s happening at home on your iPhone, but it does look like it’s the most user-friendly. It’s basically a simple camera that will let you see what’s happening and will even record what it sees on YouTube.

Lamp Hacks: LED Retrofits & Unique Customizations

083011_rg_LampHacks_01.jpgOld lamps are not something that you should throw away. There’s so much that you can do with them, especially if you have a bit of technical knowhow, which will allow you to use one of these hacks to get more life out of your tired lighting fixtures. You can also experiment, because if you break your lamp, it’s not that much of a loss. Here are a few cool ways to hack your lights into something almost new.

Doctor Who Pixel Animations by Lucie Patron

To celebrate the fact that Doctor Who started up again last Saturday, it’s only fitting that we find these cute little animated GIFs that Lucie Patron made. Well, technically they aren’t GIFs, they are Flash files, but they’re basically done to look like pixelated animated GIFs.

Cuddly Bear Superheroes and Star Wars: Bears Everywhere!

We all know that plush bears are cuddly, but Julius Santiago took it to a whole new level, by having some cuddly bears dress up in some famous costumes, from superheroes to Star Wars. Darth Vader isn’t exactly imposing in his new body, and it’s kind of hard to take Batman seriously when he’s a cute little bear.

Jersey Shore And the Wall Won S04E05 (MTV)

The cast reunited, via Vulture

I’ve mentioned to someone that watching the Jersey Shore is like watching Animal Planet. It’s like watching the mating habits of a cheetah, or something like that. There’s no doubt in my mind that this is true.

Where to begin? The douchebagginess of the cast leaves you speechless. There are no words to describe these self-professed guidos and guidettes. The cast is heading to Italy to meet real Italians. We all know that this will only end in tears. At the end of this episode, we saw some previews in which Mike ended in a stretcher after Ronnie attacked him over stuff that happened last season.

Even though they are idiotic at times, they are entertaining to watch. Well, it looks like the wall hurt Mike more than Ron. Ron-Ron needs to stop juicing and start working out those issues he has and Mike needs to stop shit-stirring. Anyway, it all ends pretty well for the crew.

Warning: This post might offend you.

[Ed. note: I had to put some warning here, and I thought that this was kind of funny, but you have been warned!]

Charliegh Co. Phone Wallets

082911_rg_CharleighPouches_01.jpgWith everyone carrying around a smartphone everywhere, people yearn to distinguish themselves from others. One of the easiest ways of doing so is by accessorizing your phone with a case that reflects a little more personality than the phone everyone else around you is carrying. One of our favourites is from fashion accessories shop, Charleigh Co. Their phone wallets are designed not only to hold and carry around your smartphone (or iPod Touch), but also the earbuds and additional wallet space…

DrawBraille Phone Concept: Texting for the Blind?

This interesting concept is called the DrawBraille phone, created by Shikun Sun while he was studying industrial design. It’s basically a haptic phone that uses a braille board as a display. Braille boards mechanically raise dots so that visually impaired and blind users can read using their fingers.
