Doctor Who The Wedding of River Song S06E13 (BBC)

The new Doctor Who: Matt Smith

Doctor Who is a long-running, award-winning British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller known as “the Doctor” who travels in his space and time-ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the exterior to be a blue police phone box. With his companions, he explores time and space, solving problems and righting wrongs.

The show’s lead character is currently portrayed by David Tennant. A Christmas special co-starring Kylie Minogue aired in December 2007, and the fourth series started on 5 April 2008. For that series, Catherine Tate will reprise her role of Donna Noble, from the 2006 Christmas special, as the Doctor’s latest companion. Midway through the series, Freema Agyeman will also return to her role of Martha Jones, following a multi-episode guest appearance in the Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood. John Barrowman will continue his role as Captain Jack Harkness, and Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler for three episodes. Elisabeth Sladen is also set to return as Sarah Jane Smith in a cameo role.

Matt Smith takes over the reigns of Doctor Who in this serial.

The Doctor is a long lived alien from the planet Gallifrey. He’s a Time Lord and travels through time thanks to his aging time capsule the Tardis. David Tennant is the tenth Doctor. My favorite has always been Tom Baker as the fourth Doctor. The Doctor periodically regenerates. When he does so, he changes outward appearance which let the producers change actors easily. All Time Lords regenerate 13 times. The Doctor’s nemesis is the Master, a renegade Time Lord who found a way around this limit. Other enemies include the Black Guardian, the Daleks and the Cybermen.

During the previous serials, before 2005, Gallifrey was alive and well. It appears that for the new series, the Doctor is the only survivor of the last great Time War between the Dalek Empire and the Time Lords.

Quite an interesting way of ending this series, at least for now. We definitely know exactly what happened to the Impossible Astronaut. In her despair, River tries to save the Doctor, but she ends up disintegrating time. Time is falling apart and there is only one way of saving this universe: the Doctor has to die. River created this because she modified the fixed point in time that the Silence had brought about. Now, the Doctor must die. He manages to wiggle himself out of a pickle, but says that he should be quieter in the future, whatever that means.

The whole thing with the Tessalector was a bit farfetched. It stood in as the Doctor, but it wasn’t one of the real Doctors, so this gambit shouldn’t have worked, but it did. It’s all in good fun.

The show opens up in an alternate London. There are steam locomotives, pterodactyls, and cars floating on hot air ballons. There is a Roman riding his chariot in the streets

Winston Churchill is the Holy Roman Emperor. They call him Caesar. The time is always 2:05PM or 5:02PM on April 22nd.

The date and the time have always been the same.
The Emperor’s doctor

Churchill wants to see his soothsayer. The clocks aren’t ticking anymore. All of history is happening at once. The soothsayer is brought before the Emperor. The soothsayer is the Doctor. He says that a woman happened to time.

Earlier, the Doctor is going after some Daleks. He’s trying to find out more about the Silence. Then, he turns up on the docks of Callisto B. He’s looking for Gideon Vandeleure.

Father Gideon Vandeleure is part of the Silence. He’s been dead for 6 months. It’s the Tessalector, the time-traveling Justice ship. He wants to know the weakest link of the Silence.

Then, the Doctor is playing Live Chess with some crazy guy from the Silence. He says that Dorium Maldova is the only one who can help him. He will take the Doctor to Dorium if the Doctor concedes the game.

They come to the place where the Headless Monks store their heads. Gantar tries to kill the Doctor, but falls into a trap and gets eaten by the skulls.

The Emperor’s soothsayer is telling the story to Churchill. He says that the woman is hell in high heels.

They are the sentinels of history.

The Silence are worried about the Doctor’s future, which terrifies them or their order. A question will be asked in the future.

On the fields of Trenzelor, at the fall of the eleventh, when no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer, a questions will be asked, a question that must never ever be answered.

-The Silence will fall when the questions is asked.
-The Silence must fall is a better translation.
The Doctor and Dorium

The Silence are determined that the question will never be answered and that the Doctor will never reach Trenzelor. Dorium knows the question. He tells it to the Doctor. The Doctor takes the head and leaves for the TARDIS.

Churchill wants to know about the question. The Doctor says that there is man that knows a dangerous, terrible secret that must never be told. It was the Doctor’s silence that the Silence are after.

The Doctor notices that they changed rooms and that Churchill has a revolver. The Doctor also has a mark on his arm.

Lake Silencio at Lake Utah is a still point in time. It makes it easier to create a fixed point in time. The Doctor tries to reach the Brigadier, but he’s told that he died a few months ago. The Doctor realizes that it’s time. He gives the letters to Father Vandeleure. He wants the messages delivered. He can’t do it himself, because he would have to cross his own time stream.

The letters were delivered. The Doctor looks at his arm and sees that he’s got three strikes on his arm now.

Amy, Rory, and River are at the right spot at the right time. There is a man in the distance. The astronaut comes out of the lake. River is in the suit. The Doctor talks with her. She shoots him. She says that fixed points in time can be rewritten. The scene freezes.

The Doctor is back with Churchill. Time is dying. They are fighting the Silence. The Doctor has got about a hundred marks on his arms. They notice the Silence on the ceiling. Someone comes in. It’s Amy Pond, with a metal eyepatch. She shoots the Doctor. They are on their way to Cairo in a train.

The walls are covered with drawings. She’s got a suit for him. Rory is missing. Time split wide open. Time is disintegrating. All of reality will simply fall apart. Captain Williams is Rory. Amy doesn’t recognize him yet. He’s also wearing an eyepatch.

In Cairo, they arrive at Area 52. The eyepatch is an eyedrive. It allows them to communicate directly with the memory storage areas in their brains. It allows them to remember the Silence.

The Doctor puts an eyepatch on. They have about 100 Silence captured in the pyramid. They start acting strangely when the Doctor comes through. River is waiting for him. They have captured Madame Kovarian. A soon as the Doctor touches River, time starts moving forward for few seconds.

The Silence are about to break out of their containment tanks. Madame Kovarian says that the Silence have never been captured, they were just waiting for the Doctor. They start killing the soldiers. Kovarian says that they are wearing eyedrives based on here. The eyedrives start killing people. The Silence try to kill Kovarian.

Amy comes back to save Rory. Amy condemns Kovarian to death by putting her eyepatch back.

They come up to the pyramid. She sent a distress message to everywhere outside the bubble of this universe. The voices replied yes that they would help the Doctor. The Doctor marries River. He whispers something in her ear and tells her that she can tell no one this. It was his name. He wants to end it by kissing her. They kiss and time moves forward again. The Doctor is shot and the fixed point in time is repaired. Time starts disintegrating.

Tick ,tock goes the clock, he gave all he could give her.
Tick, tock goes the clock, now prison waits for River.

Amy is sitting in a garden. River joins her for a glass of wine. She just came back from the Byzantium. The Doctor is dead. River says that he didn’t whisper his name into her ear. Rory comes home. They celebrate but we don’t know why. My guess is that the Doctor is still alive somehow.

Darium is brought back to where the skulls and heads are stored. The Doctor told River to look into his eye. The Tessalector was posing as the Doctor. That’s who got shot. He barely got singed by the fire.

The question is:
-Doctor who?

The Doctor says that he was too much in the open. It’s time to step back into the shadows.
