The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse; it follows a small group of survivors traveling across the desolate USA in search of a new home away from the shuffling hordes of the undead. The group is led by Rick Grimes, who was a police officer in the old world. As their situation grows more and more grim, the group’s desperation to survive pushes them to the brink of humanity. At every turn they are faced with unspeakable horrors, both from those who are dead, and from the scattered remains of a struggling human populace.
I don’t know what it is with the series on AMC, but they definitely have interesting ideas. This show is based upon a comic books, and I enjoyed watching the show. It reminds me of a lot of zombie movies, so it’s not revolutionary, but I did have fun.

I started watching this again on the weekend. It’s pretty good, but the pacing is quite slow. Still, it’s going to get interesting very quickly.

The Sheriff is reporting what happened to them after the CDC. They are moving out of Atlanta and trying to reach Fort Benning. It’s 125 miles away. The action picks up immediately after the CDC exploded.
Their caravan hits a problem. The highway is blocked. The camper breaks down. They start to forage. Motorcycles could get through. I’d want a large engine dirt bike, 500cc or more.
They spot a whole lot of zombies coming for them. There are about a hundred. They hide under the cars. T-Dog cuts himself open because he was checking them out and bleeds a lot. A zombie saw him. It looks like they can smell the blood. The zombies are orientating their heads accordingly.
Andrea is trapped in the RV. A walker comes in. She hides in the bathroom. Dale passes her a screwdriver when she is discovered after fumbling with the parts of Shane’s gun. She takes care of him.
Daryl saves T-Dog. Then they hide underneath some bodies in plain sight.
Instead of hiding, Sophie tries to get out from under the car and is chased by two walkers. Rick goes after her. He finds her and takes her with him. He doesn’t want to shoot the walkers, otherwise it will alert the herd. He takes her across water. He makes her hide under a felled tree and then draws the walkers away. Once again, instead of staying hidden, Sophia leaves after the walkers are away. Rick takes out one with a rock. He does the same to the other one.
He comes back for Sophie, but she’s gone. The others come. They pick up her trail. She veers off into the woods instead of going for the highway. Glenn and Shane go back to the others. The others are scavenging and trying to make a passage. They now have enough fuel, so they can double back to another road.
Carl finds some knives. Shane tells Lori that he’s prepping his new ride so that he can quietly slip away.
Rick and Daryl come across another walker. They take it out. Rick wants to check if it fed on Sophia. They gut it. He fed on a woodchuck. They come back to the interstate.
Rick, Daryl and Shane are carrying firearms. The others get some melee weapons. Dale took away Andrea’s weapon. She’s not happy with it. They decide to let Carl come with them. That was stupid.
They hear some church bells. The church has some walkers. They dispatch them. The bells were just a recording on a timer.
Andrea wants to go with Shane. The group has to split up. Lori hands over a gun to Andrea to shut up. Lori tells Carol that she needs to move on and stop blaming Rick for this. Andrea hands the gun back to Lori. Carl gets shot when he approaches a buck. Idiotically, Shane and Rick took the boy with him instead of leaving him with the women.
